Seashell Lyre carved in Lemonwood 7cm x 1.5cm. Extreme light gauge spider silk strings tuned to the Phrygian mode on C10 (pretty much beyond the range of human hearing). Quite challenging to find an appropriate pick but I settled on the Gibson Pure XH.
Heading back to their train, Q541-16 is making the 11400' Cincinnati, Ohio - Waycross, Georgia manifest train solid after picking up tracks 402 and 401 at Wyvern Yard.
So much fun! Just came back from a photoshoot with Varga and her friend Angelo. Here's a first pic with a bit of a behind-the-scenes feel to it.
Do check out the other photos I have taken of her.
A wintry shot of Lake Wausau near Memorial Park in the southeast side of Wausau, Wisconsin. The fog over yonder Rib Mountain is from snow being made on the slopes of the Granite Peak Ski Area.
A tricolored heron goes for a fish. This guy still has the Phoenix birding geeks (like me) in a tizzy. They don't normally reside here, preferring the Baja of California or Coastal Texas or Florida. But the desert? - not so much. We do occasionally get some coastal birds as the remnants of a hurricane blows them from the Baja of California or something, but they're usually only here a day or two and move on. This one's been here a month.

47826 crosses the River Dee approaching Hawarden Bridge station with the Branch Line Society Railtour The Ruby Valentine. The tour was welcomed to the station by a party of cyclists who had stopped wondering why all these people were at the station. Sadly the railtour derailed just around the corner, in Dee Marsh Sidings, curtailing the trip round part of the Merseyrail network.
A typical British Bank Holiday / Public Holiday with gales and rain. A good day to make marmalade and end up with nine jars : )
I've been making books for a new diorama : ) It's going to be 1/6th, but these could also be used in 1/12th.

The streets directly adjacent to the County Jail sport a plethora of Bail Bondsmen. Their most frequent customers are teary-eyed women looking to spring their husbands from the slammer. It gets me thinking, that the perfect Xmas gift for a couple of my family members might be a gift card from one of these esteemed establishments. It would be sort of a latent "get out of jail free" card. It may even make an attractive "White Elephant" gift for the office gift exchange.
By the way, I turned 65 the other day. Sixty five years old and no convictions--at least that I want to talk about.

With the timetable slipping slightly. USATC S160 5820 "Big Jim" makes a racket away from Oakworth with a service to Oxenhope
I oftentimes have found that I don't post to the group on Friday because I avoid the challenge of high or low key shooting. I couldn't sleep and woke up early to put some soup in the crock pot for lunch and since I was making spicy soup and it was dark it enticed me to pull out the tripod and go low key. Not sure about the composition but I know I won't improve and get over my apprehension unless I practice. Even if I didn't get a perfect picture I will have lunch ready. :)

The pattern for these can be found on Sarah London's blog. Here's the link for round one . I just stitched them together at the petal points, then did a single crochet around the edges, chaining two where the petals come together.
It certainly is making me smile today!
