Artwork for the High Maintenance Girlfriend EP that was released as a precursor to the Demonic Dinner Dance album. Two of the 6 tracks on the EP, Reverse the Charges & the title track, were destined to appear on the bands third album. While there were remixes of old tracks, Pleasure Slave & Global Delay to showcase previous albums, Daredevil on the Shore & Tomb of the Eagles. While the other two tracks on the EP, Wanted & Slow Down are exclusive to this release.
This was the first time that Abbie Long would grace the artwork of a Vantage Point release.

I returned to the Blackstone River Bikeway near the Ashton Mills today, again hoping I'd time it to coincide with the passage of the P&W Railroad freight train. Hearing some activity on the track and seeing a large plume of dust obscuring some headlights in the distance increased my hope that my timing was right today. Almost, but not quite. What emerged from the dust was the vehicle you see in the photo. The blades on the front were being used to grade the gravel between and alongside the tracks. It does make an interesting photo, although I'm still questing for that elusive - seemingly mythical - train. Obviously, with this apparatus on the track, no train would be passing by anytime soon.
Post processing started with a neutral filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and boost white. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

I am puzzled about one of the arrows that appears beneath the text saying "Oil bearings both ends". The arrow on the left is pointing at something that is not a bearing, but a bolt holding a post in place. Is this a mistake?

Dufferin Grove Park

This park is a 5.3-hectare park on Dufferin Street just south of Bloor Street West with large, mature forest canopy. It includes a sports field, basketball court, children's playground and, most interestingly, a reflexology footpath. At the north end of the park is the Dufferin Grove Park Artificial Ice Rink and Clubhouse. One notable feature of the park are the pieces of architectural ruins found in the trees on the western edge of the park. These are remnants of the Toronto Custom House, which stood at the southwest corner of Yonge Street and Front Street West from 1845 until it was demolished in 1919. These pieces had been languishing in a maintenance yard, before being moved here as part of artist Glen Threndyle's project 'Marsh Fountain'. The Jenna Morrison Memorial Reflexology Foot Path is the first of its kind in Canada, and is named after a local cyclist who was tragically struck and killed nearby.
