Part of No 1 School of Technical Training (No 1 SoTT) at RAF Cosford, 238 Squadron have a fleet of SEPECAT Jaguar GR1 and GR3 aircraft, which are used for Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic training. With many thanks to staff of 238 Sqn, I was allowed to photograph the Jaguar aircraft at will, predominantly to provide the detail for a forthcoming 1/48 scale 54 Sqn Jaguar that is being made for me, the first aircraft that I worked on at RAF Coltishall after completing my tech training back in the early 80’s.

Ruston & Hornsby model LBT 3 Cylinder 29 hp Diesel Mechanical Locomotive #3
Builders number 404981, left the Ruston & Horsnby works in June 1957 having been sold to Christiani & Neilsen and then later to Bunnings Bros in 1961.
With assistance from Mr D Craigie of Bunnings, this unit was kindly donated to W.A.L.R.P.A by Bunnings Bros from their Manjimup Mill in 1984.
It was delivered to Whiteman Park on the 21st of August 1984.
"Ruston" commenced traffic duties for the BBR on the 27th of April 1986 after regauging from 3ft 6 inches to 2ft.
During the late 80's, it was used on passenger services using the small coach (ALV) set, but more often than not was very useful on maintenance and works trains and shunting duties in the Mussel Pool yard.
The Ruston is hand cranked to start, with basic controls in the cab for driving. It has the ability to have variable coupler height, as well as variable couplers - either "Link and Pin" or "Jones Chopper" which means it can be used to shunt all rollingstock on the railway - large or small - it even has the grunt to haul an NG from the shed. It is also fitted with vacuum brake equipment. Although it can be difficult to start (for those who don't have the knack), its simple forward and reverse, easy handbrake and throttle controls make it a simple locomotive to drive.
Nowadays it still sees frequent use by Midweek crews for track maintenance trains and as a back up for the small train on gala days.

almost the same thing, slight modifications to the legs. the search for suitable toes with the parts i have is driving me nuts..
During a maintenance visit to our narrow boat FALCON moored at the old port at Briare for the winter, I went for a walk and discovered that the famous aqueduct had been drained for an inspection.
This shot was taken from the bridge upstream of the aqueduct, on the Briare side.
I wonder if I was as visible on the photograph the engineer was taking as he is on mine.
Léonce-Abel Mazoyer and Charles Sigault designed the aqueduct, Gustave Eiffel built the main structure, and Daydé & Pillé built the steel trough. It was opened in 1896.
Until 2003 it was the longest aqueduct in the world - 662m. It is 11.5m wide (channel 6m), and the water is 2.2m deep.
It enables craft to cross the wide and unpredictable River Loire, replacing a hazardous crossing between the Canal de Briare (and Loing) and the Canal Lateral a la Loire.
It is on one of the routes between Paris and the Rhone.
The City of Arts and Sciences (Spanish: Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias) is an entertainment-based cultural and architectural complex in the city of Valencia, Spain.
This part of the complex is the 'Oceanogràfic' it claims to be the largest aquarium in Europe... with such a busy place lots of maintenance is required. On the other side of the glass is the Sealion enclosure.

The City of Arts and Sciences (Spanish: Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias) is an entertainment-based cultural and architectural complex in the city of Valencia, Spain. It is the most important modern tourist destination in the city of Valencia (according to the Wikipedia page).
As the place is mostly white it appears to need a fair bit of cleaning. There's a job for life.

Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) powered flatcar no. RT-85 (Arva Industries, 2013) is seen up on jacks at the agency's Greenwood Shop during an open house event. An employee present at the event explained to me that the work fleet is having traction power cables replaced, requiring the car to be lifted and the trucks lowered to access the cables connecting to the motors.

Rutherford Railway Platform and Maintenance of Way equipment
This railroad platform lies in the Rutherford area of the Napa Valley, at the location of the Beaulieu Vineyard tasting room. We can see the Beaulieu stone buildings in the background. Although this structure is no longer in use, the rails are.
The railroad has a long history in Napa Valley, having been founded in 1864 by early California pioneer Samuel Brannan to shuttle visitors between the ferry boats that docked in Vallejo and the upvalley resort town of Calistoga. In 1885 the Southern Pacific Railroad Company purchased the line and operated it for the next 102 years. It was sold to the Napa Valley Wine Train, Inc. in 1987. The Napa Valley Wine Train runs from the City of Napa through the villages of Oakville and Rutherford on the same route that Sam Brannan’s original steam train ran on in the 1800s.

Beaulieu Vineyards, the story
“Quel Beaulieu” or “beautiful place” in French is what Fernande de Latour said when she saw the four-acre wheat farm her husband George bought for her in 1900. George decided to surprise his wife and the property in the heart of the Napa Valley in a small town called Rutherford, provided the perfect place. The Napa Valleys vineyards had been in the grips of the root louse phylloxera, but with Georges’ knowledge of phylloxera resistant rootstock, he helped rebuild not only his new operation, but the Napa Valley wine industry as well.
Thus was Beaulieu Vineyard established.
