I usualy have a battery in the top left of the board. Theres a MIDI interface at the top right. Sockets on the right from top to bottom are: MIDI - IN, THRU, OUT. Next is Audio in and out to the analogue circuits on the board at the very top. these go to the ADC and DAC. Next is the TAPE interface for saving and loading programs. Finally is the Parallel I/O port which is connected to the Z80 PIO.

2001-ben még egyszer ugyanazt a részletét lefestettem a műteremnek, de a radiátor helyét átvette valami más: egy szinti-alaplap. Budapest.
Now the top cover has been removed. You can see four Hitachi Deskstar 500GB SATA3 HDs that are numbered from 1 to 4. They can be removed without using tools. Currently the maximum capacity is 4 x 1TB. The construction looks and feels quite solid. Below the hard drives the mainboard (on the right side) and the power supply (left side) can be found.
The mainboard installed in the box. For now the compact flash is in the box, I can update the boot image and kernel via network if needed.

Got an used Sherman Filterbank some days before. While turning the potis a bad scratching destroyed all my fun, so i decided to look if i can prepare to avoid it. First problem were the extrem hard tightened screws at the back. One must be bored up. Next problem was that the main board is tightened at the top of the housing, and not at the bottom. Even some screws of the mainboard were tightened to hard, so i decided to let it in to avoid destroying by accidend with my screwdriver.
A big failure was to use cotton buds for cleaning. At the potis there's a lot of fat and little hairs of the cotton buds stayed there. So i had to remove at first my own dirt. Then i tried to clean the potis rotary as well as possible with my little finger, paper and a small dental brush. Absolute fucking work because the space is too small. At last i used some Sterilium with the small dental brush. The next step was to clean the potis arm at the outside of the housing and also the housing by itself.
Yeah, it works now and i hope it isn't only for a short time :)
The Laserharp ALH-03 RGB is developed and produced by Airböurne Synthesizers in Luterbach, Switzerland in November 2012.
It features the following functions:
- high sensitive light receiver directly built-in in the main cabinet.
- 4 user programmable presets
- up to 33 diferent colours
- selectable beam number from 8 to 14
- user programmable note scale over 7 octaves
- selectable MIDI channel and playing mode
- octave shift up and down over pedals and also over the beams top left and top right
- lasers and receiver are covered with protective glass.
The mainboard contains the microcontroller for driving the displays, processing the MIDI signal and all keys and pedals. The scanner and also the laser beam timing and colours is managed by an FPGA.
"Skirt Full of Stars"
Illuminated interactive skirt. Uses an accelerometer and lilypad arduino board to change light colors in response to the speed and direction of the wearer's movement.

Here is the old (right) and new (left) mainboards from the Dell Optiplex GX270 that had bulging capacitors.
Note that Dell extended the "out of warranty replacement" of these until January 31, 2008 and thus I was able to get this replacement. Shortly after taking this picture I packaged up the old one and shipped it back to Dell.
Never ceases to amaze me how little blobs of metal and wires soldered onto a plastic board can conduct electricity to accomplish what computers do...
Our Daily Challenge: intricate
Why make a customer with a busted DC jack wait eight weeks for a new mainboard from a parts supplier when you can soldier a $0.40 connector onto the board for the win?
Very few service centers around the world train their technicians on soldering techniques and GSC's Agents are the best of the best.
The main board of the clock is underway! I now have the chip sockets, the logic power supply, and a little block of switching transistors in place.
I decided to use one of my favorite kind of prototype boards for this - the venerable Radio Shack 276-150. I've built a ton of little circuits on these (like this one), but this clock mainboard has to be the most ambitious.
As you can see, many of the copper pads cover more than one hole. So it's not, strictly speaking, proper to call this a doughnut board. Instead, I call it churroboard.
