Another shot taken in the old U.S. Post Office, which is now the Erie Community College City Campus. I love these old mail chutes which relied on gravity to deliver letters from upper floors to lower floor collection boxes.

Original image was in color, but the harsh yellow lighting of the old lights looked terrible. Sepia toning and HDR brought this back from the brink of my Recycle Bin.

A few of the history buffs who turned out for Folsom's Pony Express celebration.

The mail-laden handcar rolls across the Folsom turntable.

The turntable weighs three tons. After the mail was delivered and the speeches were made, visitors were offered the opportunity to turn this thing. I jumped at the chance. Another woman ran to the opposite side and we pushed...and it spun, slowly. We pushed it around like it weighed next to nothing. It's balanced perfectly.

And this postal truck was moving swiftly last Saturday when we had our 2 ft "blizzard". Saw some snow mobiles go by in the traffic too!
