Carlson Anand Kasparov Karpov.... One of the most interesting documentaries of 2016/2017: MAGNUS__ docu trailer youtu.be/Z_EkreN5rcQ. Non trailer: youtu.be/Qc_v9mTfhC8. He could play blind chess, he could name almost all the countries in the world with their capitals and populations when he was 5 yrs old and more...
Chess, (seems to be) originated in Persia, Lucknow, currently north India. The word chess comes from the Persian word shāh. Shāh stands for king. // I remember as young girl hearing the names Karpov / Kasparov on the news.
Magnus war ein lustiger Typ, er ist Sicherheitsbeauftragter VOR der Bühne und gehört zur Orga-Leitung.
Magnus was a funny guy, he's the security officer IN FRONT of the stage.

Formosa Auto was set up in 2000 by the Formosa Plastics Group, the largest petrochemical conglomerate in Taiwan, and Daewoo. Daewoo already sold models like the Matiz, Nubira and Leganza on the Taiwanese market. Daewoo went bankrupt in the following year and by this General Motors (GM) gained once again access to the Taiwanese market, after the assembly of Opel cars was halted in 2000 due to a bankruptcy of its local partner.
The Formosa brand replaced the Daewoo brand, and initially launched the Formosa-badged Daewoo Magnus (Evanda in Europe) in February 2001, followed by the Matiz in the year after. Sales were disappointing and the relationship between Formosa and GM was tense, especially when GM decided to produce the next Daewoo model to be produced by the joint-venture, the Nubira II (Lacetti sedan), would be branded as Buick instead of Formosa.
In 2005 Formosa had to look for another partner when GM and Yulon agreed to make Buick cars in Taiwan. Since 2006 Formosa is locally assembling DAF trucks in its Taiwanese plant.

Full name: Magnus Espen Nylund
Alias: Nylund, Mags, Marius, Espen/Esp, Wind Man, Styrmir, American Thor, Norse God
Age: 33
Nationality: Norweigian-Danish born American
Bio: Nylund is a member of the Order of The Grand Rose, having inducted at a young age by a family friend. The group were magical users for good, and despised any cult methods or members, which thankfully was at a relatively moderate number of 30. Nyland left the group after his parents encouraged him to go for Loyola University in Chicago, which was not far away from his home.
Nylund majored in architecture and minored in anthropology. He also took this time to practice magic and discover his ancestral background of both countries. In his final year, he went on a exchange program which did land him in Norway and Denmark, having acquainted with the language. By the time he was done and graduated, Nylund found out that his family and their friend died, along with two-thirds of the order, due to the vampires and the second Black Death. With nowhere to go and being the only child, he and the remaining Order fled everywhere seeking help and connections, before eventually stumbling on his solo path to a magical guardian.
Personality, powers and abilities: Wise, no-nonsense, head full of knowledge. Nylund has been honed as a warrior with his powers of wind manipulation. He is also known to combine these powers with spellcasting. Nylund’s expertise in magic also gives him knowledge to ancient history and language, due to his interest in civilization. Known to speak adept in mixing magic and combat and fluent in most Scandinlavic languages.
Equipment: Gas mask to prevent mystical gases, which he often wears. He wears a hat he found in Denmark, and a newly crafted suit along with his old robes from the Order. Various guns and weapons, spell casting books etc. Carries breather due to mild asthma.

Getting Revoltech Magnus to balance like this was an issue, but I think the result was worth it.

"St Magnus Cathedral - Britain’s most northerly Cathedral.
St Magnus Cathedral known as the 'Light in the North' was founded in 1137 by the Viking, Earl Rognvald, in honour of his uncle St Magnus. The Cathedral belongs to the people of Orkney and its doors are open to all. The Cathedral, set in the heart of Kirkwall, the capital city of the Orkney Islands, is a place of stillness, of inspiration, of warmth, and is steeped in the presence of God."
one of the first shots with the new camera -- and soon I must start posting older stuff that has just fallen by the wayside lately!
A word on this kitty... he's so happy that we put a tree in the living room and covered it in cat toys!
Remember that Ultra Magnus cover from Dreamwave where he breaks free from his armor? This is my take on it just for fun.
Walking through George Square at the University today, have walked here many times and yet hadn't noticed this carving above the door lintel on this building. Zoomed in, appears to be Albertus Magnus, medieval German theologian and philosopher, later promoted to full on Saint.
Alec Lightwood is a Shadowhunter, humans whose blood contains the blood of angels, which gives them special powers. Alec was in love with his 'brother in arms' or 'parabatai' Jace but never acknowledged his own feelings... Then he meets Magnus, an outrageously 'out there' warlock who favours extravagant clothing and lots of face and hair glitter. Warlocks are one of the four species of 'downworlders' in the Shadowhunters universe - creatures that are part demon part human, the other three being vampires, werewolves and faeries. Magnus immediately falls for Alec and eventually the two become lovers. Their love develops over the whole six books of The Mortal Instruments series and where I am now at the end of Book Five, they have just split up! I'm hoping Book Six leads to a loving reconciliation...
The 16 foot tall steel statue of Magnus the Viking was erected in 2013 to commemorate the 750th anniversary of the the Battle of Largs in 1263 when the Scots defeated the Viking army, which led to Scotland regaining control of Kintyre and the Western Isles.

Formosa Auto was set up in 2001 by the Formosa Plastics Group, the largest petrochemical conglomerate in Taiwan, and General Motors. It marked the return for GM on the Taiwanese market after the assembly of Opel cars was halted in 2000 due to a bankruptcy of its local partner. The Formosa brand replaced the Daewoo brand, just taken over by GM, and initially launched the Formosa-badged Daewoo Magnus (Evanda in Europe) in 2001, not much later followed by the Matiz. Sales weren't impressive. GM later tried again with the Buick brand (Daewoo-based Excelle and the Chinese-designed LaCrosse), which both failed miserably.
Will this be the last sunny weekend?

Albertus Magnus, O.P. (1193/1206 – November 15, 1280), also known as Albert the Great and Albert of Cologne, is a Catholic saint. He was a German Dominican friar and a Catholic bishop. He was known during his lifetime as doctor universalis and doctor expertus and, late in his life, the term magnus was appended to his name.
