► █░▓ ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈ INVICTUS I / ʀᴀɴsᴛ - ʙ, commercial inland vessel, rushes downstream against the setting Sun. Taken 25 minutes before the astronomical sunset. It was a very nice clear sunny afternoon altogether, but a large cloud front above the North Sea blocked the actual sunset during the last 15 minutes. The whirlpool at the tip of the goyne is a natural phenomenon and exactly the reason why the area around is by no means advisable for the swimmers.

Rain and fog for the last few days have left the evergreens covered in drops, got wet walking through the woods, but thoroughly enjoyed it.
Dew Drops magnify the grains in a blade of grass at the Jones/Hungryland Wildlife & Environmental Area in western Martin County, Florida.
The temperature outside, as I post this image, is 10F, or -12C. So, I found a photo from warmer times, when water was liquid.
Now I feel better! LOL
Magnified a little more than 2x. This little spider is resting on a rudbecka flower eating its prey.

I'll apologise now. There's a bit of a theme here. If you are bored look away now, change channels, whatever…
Right! Have they gone? Last night's rain was widespread. Everything was bejewelled with the stuff!
Did I mention I've been busy? Anyway, because of that, there is grass both in volume and magnitude above normal. Wanting for a herbivore, instead I picked up this camera. At my age, I should have known better and got a goat.
This morning's gloom made for gentle light and no breeze. Almost, but not quite perfect. I first shot this at f8/ISO 400. Did I mention everything was wet? So I stood, bent and twisted, instead of kneeling — the sonnet's knee pads and my cameras being now separated in space exceeding my available time! The result did not make me happy. When I did this stuff with film and extension tubes, such luxury — the divide between happiness and a frown when the film was processed — wasn't even a dream.
That's why you are getting this version stopped down to f/11 and at a higher speed. Any slower and I'd have been wobbling about like one of those 1970s nodding dogs; any faster and things might be a bit grainy.
Now, I do wonder whether the magnifying effect of raindrops is how we ended up with this magnificent lump of glass weighing down my camera?

Happy Turkey Day, one and all. I'm thankful for all you crazy Flickrheads who come and peep my photostream day in and day out and write redonkulous comments that make me titter and snort and gurgle with hilarity. Enjoy your day, enjoy your turkey. It's unseasonably warm here (about 70 degrees), so I might go, I dunno, surfing or base jumping or something. Or maybe I'll just eat a bucket of turkey and pass out in a puddle of my own saliva. Hard to say.
