This is one capture of the PhotoWalk we just had. It was taken at the Cockrell Butterfly-Center (Houston, TX)
The colours of the forest are truly beautiful as I showed you yesterday. And in the final shot today you'll see them again. But I thought that a black and white view would be really interesting, especially when we can see the forms of the rocks and trees, and the reflection in the water. You can imagine now how this scene might have looked in a photograph 100 years ago. Majestic and magical.

En el corazón del centro de Asturias se encuentra este magnífico desfiladero, hermano pequeño de la Garganta del Cares, pero para muchos senderistas mucho más bello y menos masificado. Fue declarado Monumento Natural por el Principado de Asturias, en Abril de 2002.
La ruta del Desfiladero de las Xanas, tanto por su gran interés natural, paisajístico y didáctico, como por su escasa dificultad, es una de las mejores elecciones como ruta de iniciación para pequeños y mayores. La senda fue tallada en la roca, en un antiguo proyecto para conectar los pueblos de Pedroveya, Rebollada y Dosango con el valle del Trubia. En nuestro caminar hacia Pedroveya, iremos atravesando varios túneles esculpidos en la piedra.
Su ubicación, en el Concejo de Santo Adriano, la hace accesible en pocos minutos desde las principales ciudades de Asturias. Al no ser una ruta ni muy larga ni muy exigente ( el trayecto de ida y vuelta se hace en unas 3 o 4 horas) con un recorrido de 8 km y unos 500m de desnivel, es ideal para hacer en cualquier época del año y para todas las edades.
El nombre del desfiladero hace honor a las hadas de la mitología astur, Las Xanas, hadas que habitan en los ríos y las fuentes de esta hermosa región.

I wondered why the wind was so cold yesterday but then it snowed quite a bit last night. This morning, as always, after snowing. there was this gorgeous bright sunlight and the snow melting from the bushes close to my house. I hope you feel spring arriving! I do! Wish everyone a lovely Friday. Once again a bit closer to Spring.
