It came as a big surprise.

I had been at this beach a couple of years ago. This time, the idea was once again to shoot sunset, with the golden light bathing the peaks of the mountains standing on the other side of the fjord.

But, once I noticed some curious rocks and closed in on them, the landscape/seascape planned shots were immediately forgotten.

This is the first photo of a series...

Hope you will like it! 😊

Look at the hands. Positioning and shape of the hands are one of my deepest concerns while photographing people. A hand can make or break a composition.

Magical moments are fleeting and an encounter can begin and end in less than five minutes. While spending a three hour stint in the blind I have to be constantly watching the water. On this evening of the summer solstice I had exactly one visit from this family of young Wood Ducks. I noticed them swimming and dabbling amid vegetation. They remained in that general area for three minutes before swimming over to the log. Just then a train came through and seemed to spook the adult. They all ran across the log, jumped back onto the water and swam away. Their time on the visible section of the log < 20 seconds. In that brief time, only in about three frames were their heads facing the sun (most of them), and only one that included the hen. Imagine if I hadn’t been paying attention. Whew! And for those super-keen observers, how many ducklings do you see? It's not as easy as it looks. June 21, 2019

These unusual mushrooms were growing near a firepit at Cape Perpetua in Oregon. Since they were the only funghi of this kind in the campground, I think someone dropped something and the heat from the fire encouraged them to grow. I'm not an expert and would love an identification.

Thanks for your visit, comments, awards, faves and invitations.

I was late for sunset because of traffic, parked my car and immediately raced to get a glimpse of golden light before the sun disappeared behind the clouds.

I saw this stream and run uphill looking for a good spot, got my shoes wet and all..but it was too late, the sun had gone.

I set my tripod to at least take a picture of the water when, just as magic, one last ray of light peeked through the clouds, illuminating this specific part of the mountain.

It truly was an incredible moment.

We all have some of that special magic inside of us...no matter what colour it may be!

This photo is a small celebration of mine for being accepted into the 2019 Mr and Miss Pride Pageant today, I've been very worried about showing that side of myself and today it feels like a boost to embrace it more often, even if some have left me in the dust because of it it is not me who has lost. But instead I am more free without having to hide myself around certain people or being looked down on or even being treated like it prevents me from being in a relationship. This past month has been rough but today is a win in my book. I have pride in myself and confidence I can do my best!

I had a couple of songs that made me smile while I was editing this I hope you enjoy them!

A "Dult" is in southeastern German-speaking countries a fair with folk festival character. A dult may take place on the saint's name day or on a general church holiday, but is less related to the religious background than a church feast. In Regensburg, people are celebrating the "Mai-Dult" held in May, every year.

Early in the morning, the fairground is quiet and deserted.
