The magic of Christmas
It is a true joy to stand before a twinkling Christmas tree, feeling a little bit brighter and filled with gratitude for the beauty and love that the holiday season brings. With each sparkling moment, I reflect on the important events of the past year and the special people who have inspired my journey. As I stand in this magical moment of Christmas, I can't help but to look forward with hope and excitement to the year ahead. Merry Christmas to all my Flickr friends.

Aurora borealis at an ancient holy site.
Sony 14mm 1.8 GM in APSC mode, so equivalent to 21mm.
This night you could see the Aurora strait up in the sky and from North to East to South to West and back to North, it was all around, very amazing.
In the upper right corner you can see The Plough, (La Casserole), (Septem Triones).
You need to be proper prepared for photographing the Aurora, I was not prepared, a friend of mine called me on the phone and told there was Aurora. So I quickly packed my gear, but I forgot the fast memory card which is very useful for long exposures, I forgot an extra tripod, I forgot a L-bracket and I forgot to check if the cameras was set at full frame setting, so this photo is only in APSC mode equivalent to a 21mm Lens, I forgot at the start not to focus to infinity, you have to focus manual and magnify to check the focus, but I got some good photo images at the end after all. Use aperture as large as possible, I used apertures 1.8 to 3.5, shutter time from 5 to 30 second and ISO from 100 to 320. Wide angle Lenses from about 14mm to 35mm. For this shoot I brought two Cameras and 3 Lenses, 14mm, 21mm and 35mm in a small camera bag.

I was at the park last Monday to photograph a Jasmine that was leaving the show. She had contacted me and asked me if I would come by and do a set of photos. While there I ran across this Magic Carpet. Earlier I shot a set of photos for her but they were from the other side of the stage. Since I was there I shot a few of her on this side (stage left).
I must admit a certain fondness for photographing the Magic Carpets. They only have their movements and expressions to convey their emotions. Some of them have the most sorrowful expressions.
Photo wise there is some crop (about an eighth off the left and top. This started in LR for the global adjustments then went into Photoshop 5 for some dodging and other clean up.
Climbing the mountain is always a privilege and normally the views and lights never disappoint.

In honor of Magic May, I found a shot we got a couple years ago of a juvenile Canada Jay, which was our nemesis bird for quite some time. Best part was we saw the family without any other humans, which is always our favorite! Secret Canada Jay spot.
Arriving early morning in Liverpool , the beautiful Disney Magic here for the day , bit of a dark cloud welcome but as she docked the sun came out , and hopefully later on I'll get some sunnier photos , but as the time was 0700 the sun would have been direct behind her so im glad it didnt come out till after I finished grabbing my pics !
