This attractive Mercedes Benz 609D came to Luton & District (the Shires) via Birmingham Omnibus in 1995. The unusual bodywork, almost akin to how the van would left the original German factory has been made or converted by 'Made to Measure' into a B24F minibus. It is seen in Luton's Manchester Street, in 1995, just after entering service with The Shires as their fleet no.15, K25 WND, dating from 1993.

Is it possible to create the doppelganger of someone using only their personal Google data? This question stood at the core of the project Made to Measure. Using personal online data, the group Laokoon created a doppelganger of a person they did not know, telling “her” story. The spectacular experiment can be experienced on an interactive storytelling website.
In this Journey, Laokoon cinematically recorded the installation of Made to Measure at the Ars Electronica Festival and captured the reactions and impressions of the audience. Complemented by excerpts from interviews with experts who explain how the information collected is used for profiting from people’s weaknesses, insecurities, illnesses and addiction potentials.

The made to measure clothing and tailoring industry in Britian has moved over to mass clothing retailers in many highstreets, but here in Fenham the Asian/ British Asian community demand for Asian clothing it seems, has fuelled a market for independent tailoring once more.
