A close-up view of a vivid pink Cosmos bipinnatus flower, also known as Mexican aster, captured on a walk through Longmont, Colorado. The petals are wide and gently notched, radiating outward from a dense yellow center of tiny disk florets. The shallow depth of field lets the intricate structure of the flower shine against a softly blurred background of natural tones.

This image was taken in early afternoon using the Nikon Zf paired with the Nikon F-mount Micro 105mm f/2.8 macro lens via FTZ adapter, showcasing this versatile lens’s ability to render fine floral detail with rich color.

Most of my pictures are taken in and around the city of Molde, in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway.

This one was taken at the Rose Garden on roof of Molde Town Hall.

I am in love with the striped colors of orange in this flower.

The color of this flower was more white than pictured. A little green light from the front gives it more of a "minty," color.

Visual Splendor

Eyespots on Wings: Its most iconic trait is the vibrant eyespots on the hindwings, which resemble the eyes on a peacock's tail. These aren't just beautiful—they help deter predators by mimicking the eyes of larger animals.

Color Palette: The wings feature rich hues of golden orange, rusty brown, and sometimes deep violet. The contrast between the bold eyespots and the warm background gives it an almost regal look.

Seasonal Variation: The Peacock Pansy exhibits seasonal dimorphism—its wing patterns and colors change with the dry and wet seasons, offering nature lovers different looks in different months.

You can know my heart the same

Whenever I fall away

Whenever I start to break

So here I am, lifting up my heart

To the one who holds the stars

A mashup of several ideas I had. This is definitely a studio shot. Three mirrors were used along with parts from 3 plants. At least it's interesting.

Infant Blooms Growing Toward Their Elders

Red is typically a difficult color to shoot for me. But the incredibly rich color of this complex and beautiful rose speaks loudly for itself.

Intense yellow over electric green.

The gold seems to be running from the orange. I love the clash of colors here.

In the quiet hush of dawn,

Where the chill of winter begins to fade,

A bud stirs—tiny, green, and full of promise.

From the heart of a branch,

A sliver of life unfurls.

Soft, tender, and luminous,

The newborn leaf greets the sun.

Each cell pulses with potential,

Drawing strength from the roots below

And the sky above.

A whisper of chlorophyll begins its dance—

Turning light into life,

Air into breath,

Stillness into sway.

I miss summer! I miss the taste of fresh shucked corn from the garden. I miss those warm rays from the sun.
