For the Macro Mondays theme of 'Spirals' a seashell from my local beach, placed on a larger shell (a clam)
A US quarter with George Washington's countenance spinning on the dresser while I swiped the camera toward the subject. HMM!

Macro Mondays, Theme: Measurement
For an image where its easier to see the scale, see:
Two rubber bands tied into a knot and a strong light off to the side. With just a hint of impressionistic effect.
For Macro Mondays
This week's theme: Knot.

This is a recreation of the original slinky as sold in 1945. The box is signed by the first boy who ever played with one, Tom James, whose father designed it. I asked Tom what he first did with it...and he said he tried it on the stairs! HMM!!
Wikipedia on the Slinky:
Slinky (also known as Spring) is a toy metal spring that tumbles end over end down stairs and even "walks". It was invented by Richard James in 1943, and quickly became a bestseller. Other Slinky toys were developed such as the Slinky Dog and the Slinky Train. Company president Betty James has always kept the toy's price low so children could buy it. It originally sold for $1.
Macro Mondays: Treasured
A small collection of presents that are invaluable to me... The garnet heart was given to me from my mum (all the more treasured as it was one of the only survivors from a burglary during which almost all of my jewels, including some I was quite attached to for sentimental reasons, were stolen). The stone and the wooden heart were painted and given to me by the older of my two nieces, who's just turned 10. The flower in the back is the top of a box that was a long-ago Christmas present from my grandmother. We were so very close, and I still miss her a lot.

Macro Monday. Stitch
A long time ago I took a embroidery class. This is just a small portion of the project. The finished product included 19 different stitches. This is a very small part of it.

Macro Mondays - Keyhole
Samsonite suitcase lock, measures 3/4". Image measures 2" on the long side. The lock is on top of a lavender container with holographic paper in the background. I used a small flashlight to light the keyhole.
Happy Macro Monday!
Being away on holiday I don't have too many things to choose from for this theme. The garlic with its interesting form and structure seemed to be just fine to try in b&w.
HMM to you, dear Flickr friends, y saludos.
