Carnation flowers still showing beauty but ready for the trash can, happy Easter Monday and HMM.

A present from my son, 25 years ago, on return from a cricket tour in Trinidad and Tobago. Not all the holes can be seen, but the flower grouping gives you a clue.

Ulu = Messer

The Ulu is a knife traditionally used by the women of the Inuit. The basic shape is a thin blade with a semicircular edge and a handle in the middle of the opposite side. It is used for skinning and dismembering the hunting prey, filleting of fish and for preparing and crushing the food.
