This is a toothpick holder and my Grandmother had one! I found out they were made in the 40's and 50's and when I saw one at a flea market some thirty years ago, I had to have it because of the memories it brought back. You press on the woodpeckers head and he leans forward and handily picks up the toothpick for you. HMM!

On Saturday Jesse went out into the garden to cut the grass but seemed to be gone such a long time. So we decided to investigate not that we were worried in any way because we could still hear the petrol mower.
And by the fruit cage, the mower, still going but down beside it all that remained of Jesse's broken spectacles. No sign of Jesse, just these bits.
All the broken pieces that could be found were collected - bits of frame, the broken glass lenses, the fragments of neck cord and together with various pieces of hair and grass were then put together for this photograph.

Inside a cut-open geode, a naturally occurring geological oddity, apparently an ordinary looking rock but containing crystals.
For this week's #MacroMondays challenge “PPEP” I've chosen to photograph: Some pencils. Hope you like it! Have a great HMM!
