Coccinella septempunctata, also known as Seven-spotted Lady Beetle.
One of my first insect macro shots taken with an old objective (M42 Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 2,8 / 35mm + Macro extension tube)
Exif data might not be accurate as the adapter fools the camera into believing that a f2.0 50mm is mounted.

Exploring my backyard with the Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 pancake lens on simple macro extension tube installed on a Canon 60D. Canon 580EX flash used with Yongnuo YN‑622C transceiver off camera.
Lens at x5 Magnification with extension tubes taking it to about x7 magnification. Each line is ½mm apart.
This is a test of the macro extension tubes that I bought cheaply last summer.
They enable the use of any lens to work as a macro lens.
Unfortunately this has a lot of drawbacks.
1. They have no electricity
2. Manual focus is a must
3. No setting of the f number (a workaround is to attach the lens, select a f number, preview the depth of field, removing the lens while still holding the preview button)
4. Since the aperture is set all the time, very little light reach the viewfinder making the setting of focus hard
5. Very shallow depth of field makes it even harder
6. Very short focus distance
So, ok I can get close, but is it worth it...
The flower is about one cm in diameter. It was shot with the full set of extension tubes and the EF 50 1.8 set to f16. Focal distance from the front glas of the lens, oh, about a centimeter I would say.
I want a true Macro lens, there is too much hassle with this.
If anyone who sees this has any tips on using simple macro extension tubes I would be very happy....

I got a new macro attachment for my a5000 (it's a set of extension tubes with electrical connections so autofocus can be used).

This is from a set of unused "Staying Healthy" Macro Mondays submissions.
I submitted a more active shot instead:
Taken with catmacbride's macro extension tubes.
Have to try this again with actual Pepsi in the glass, might get better bubbles : )

18-55mm Lens with Extension Tubes
So I replaced my old Skagen watch with this new one, figured I should get a pic of it before I scratch it all up. I'm not on their payroll I swear.
Difficulty: How to make it different? I tried a long exposure and multiple flashes to get the seconds hand exposed several times, I thought it looked kinda spiffy.
Lighting info: Bare SB-600 into a tissue over the space between the lens and the subject to serve as a diffuser (the LumiQuest Softbox was easily several feet away and out of my reach while the tissues were right there, so I opted to MacGuyver it instead), triggered via Cactus V4.

I submitted a slightly different shot with showed more of the winch and less of the glove-sheet interaction:

Yes, my little nephew bought me a necklace, looks like a kind of small backbone, I will need to try it tomorrow, I like it but I am not sure if I will be wearing it anyways I will try it tomorrow.
In other news, here the weather is hot and getting hotter :P
Today one of my uncles and his grandson were visiting us, so both of my nephews were enjoying the small pool during the afternoon, I went to the backyard where the pool is and both of them starting to throw water to me, so we finished in a kind of water war :P, man it was funny.
Well, now dinner time, we are going to the market to get some tacos!!!
