As I recall, this was a small, seldom-used courtyard surrounded by buildings. The only way you could get to it was through a sliding steel door out of sight on the right.

A typical timber train from Alavus is soon passing through Haapamäki with neat looking Dv12s. Class Dv12 diesel hydraulic locomotive number 2658 is leading the train and its appearance sparks attention due to its rough liver as the world down machine continues its duty.

Pilatus Tateshina snow resort
ピラタス蓼科スノーリゾート
I had planned to go down the mountain by ropeway, but I missed it and walked down the mountain. It took about 30 minutes.
In the background is Mt. Kisokomagatake, and when there is little snow in Tateshina, everyone goes there.
ロープウェイで下山する予定でしたが乗り遅れて歩いて下山。雪が少なかったので30分程度です。背景奥は木曽駒ヶ岳、蓼科に雪が少ないと、皆さんあちらに向かうとか。

YZ stood for 'wise head' - hence the (faded) graphic of the owl at the top.
Someone also said if you watched the machine you could tell when the free packet was due to come out. You'd have to be pretty desperate and/or have a lot of time on your hands for the sake of one old penny's worth of "spiggy".
A machine shop in the isolated ghost town of Berlin, Nevada has a great view of the valley below from its location in the Shoshone Range. The town's few remaining buildings scattered on the hillside are maintained as a state park. This was scanned from a slide taken in 2000.
The Zollern colliery in Dortmund is one of the most beautiful testimonies to Germany's industrial past. An icon of industrial culture made of steel and glass is the machine hall with the stained-glass Art Nouveau portal. Discover the "Palace of Labor", look behind the magnificent brick facades, climb the headframe, follow the coal path and immerse yourself in a world of hard work underground.

I made the time machine that appeared in the movie [The Time Machine].
It's also a steampunk style, and it's my favorite machine.
I would like to improve it in the future so that the reproducibility can be improved.
Close up of the open-worm type machine head on an old mandolin. I was really undecided which image to upload to the Macro Mondays group out of the set.
Butler Farm Show
Butler, Pennsylvania
This machine makes the rolls of hay that can be seen on farmland once hay is harvested. I loved the abstract quality of the machine's design ---both practical and beautiful.
Those large rolls of hay remind me of old-fashioned shredded wheat that used to come in a roll that was about 3 inches in diameter. When I was a child, we sprinkled the shredded wheat with sugar and poured milk over it, but the large pieces were difficult to break apart with a spoon. I usually ended up with milk on the table or myself. It was years before mini-wheats came out. Same taste, easier to eat.
La Machine made its North American debut from July 27 to 30 on the streets of downtown Ottawa. The show, created by a French theatre production company, is called "The Spirit of the Dragon-Horse, The Stolen Wings."
It features Long Ma, who has the body of a horse and the head of a dragon, stands 12 metres tall, and can breathe fire, and Kumo, a spider who is about 20 metres long when fully outstretched. The two creatures have an Ottawa backstory for the show.
“We found out that as we were excavating the tunnel in the LRT, workers saw some giant spider webs, then scientists did a bit of research and found some fossil arachnid eggs and they also found some bones from a prehistoric species of dinosaur that seems to be associated with a dragon,” Laflamme said.
Part of the appeal of La Machine, is that spectators are able to get very close to the creatures. There will be no barriers cordoning off the viewing area, instead a group of people will form a security blockade known as “la patate” that will make sure people are not under foot when the machines move.
