I got an 8 Gb RAM kit today to replace the 4 Gb I got originally in my 2009 MacBookPro- it makes a huge difference and was rather simple to open the case, pop out the old ones, and insert the new chips.

TechRestore was featuring an interesting product that I hadn't heard about -- for $199, you can ship them your 15" unibody MacBook Pro, and they'll rip off the glass and the LCD, and install an LCD with a matte finish, and install a new bezel around the display (to restore lost rigidity). Looks like a pretty decent option for those who detest the glossy displays.
