An old door and stone stairs that i capture in Quinta da Ribafria in Sintra and some stock elements modified for this work.

The mystery of Lake Gormire is that it has no major inflow or outflow of water, baffling people who wondered how the lake was fed. Modern scientists believe the water supply comes from an underground spring, but hundreds of years ago it’s existence was magical. Gormire translates as ‘filthy swamp’ and It’s dark appearance gave rise to several myths, including that it is bottomless and conceals the submerged remains of a sunken village. At least the deepest lake in Yorkshire. The lake is also known as the White Mere.

I hope this image evokes a feeling of tranquility and peace. The warm colors of the sunset contrasting with the cool blues of the water and sky create a sense of balance and harmony. The silhouette of the bridge against the vibrant sky adds a touch of mystery and intrigue.

Desire has garnered undeserved bad press among spiritual writers, as if all desires were impure. According to its Latin origin, the very word means “relating to a star” or “following a star”—your star. You purify your desires not by suppressing them but by finding your highest star and hitching your heart to it.

The mystery remains unsolved, the deets however are on my blog:

Jungfrau Park is an amusement park located near Interlaken, Switzerland. It opened as the Mystery Park in 2003, and closed in November 2006 due to financial difficulties and low turnout. The park was designed by Erich von Däniken, and consisted of seven pavilions, each of which explored one of several great "mysteries" of the world. Von Däniken opened the theme park to present his interpretations of unsolved mysteries involving extraterrestrial life that he believes took place around the world.

“As if everybody here would know

Exactly what I was talking about

Talking about diamonds on the soles of her shoes”

I, for one, never could figure out what Paul Simon was talking about. Maybe it was snowflakes on the soles of her shoes? :-)

Why don't you tell me about the mystery dance

I want to know about the mystery dance

Why don't you show me

'Cause I've tried and I've tried, and I'm still mystified

I can't do it anymore and I'm not satisfied

In April of 1983, New York, Susquehanna & Western ran a private charter of what was called the "Mystery Express". High paying clientele boarded the game of "Clue" at Little Ferry, NJ, for a run up to Cortland, NY. Someone would be "murdered" along the way and the patrons would have to put together clues to figure out whodunit. It also gave the opportunity for the railroad to debut it's latest Alco C-430, #3004.

The train ran to Passaic Jct, NJ, then up the Southern Tier line with a Conrail crew at the throttle. The NYS&W was using it's "haulage rights" for this train on the Tier. At Binghamton, the train would have to reverse direction in order to head up the Susquehanna's Northern Division putting the shiny Alco in the lead. Riders were placed in hotels in the Cortland area overnight and returned east the next day to solve the murder.

I believe at the time, it was rumored that Walter Rich, the president of Delaware Otsego Corp., owner of the Susquehanna, was the one who lost his life aboard the train. Now who would want him gone? I don't believe it was true, but railfans love rumors!

Here we see the train with GP-18 #1802 in the lead as they roll along the Delaware River near Callicoon, NY.

The only beloved is the living mystery itself.

I must clarify that the mystery is in my mind. The fact is that I am not certain why these dhows are perched on the sand bar in Sur as they are quite far away from the sea.

I would guess that they are waiting to be used. We saw dhows in Sur being built, in the water, or waiting to go into the water. Much of the damage from the tropical storm which hit this area very hard a few years ago has been cleared away.

One might conclude that Sur is filled with dhows which is not the case. It is also a sleepy little beach town where Omanis can go for a beach holiday. Enjoy the sea views today as tomorrow we are off to the desert and the sand dunes.

This was a hard image to process. The tone of those leaves resisted separation. I resorted to a subtle duo-tone. I'm finally happy with it.

If anyone recognizes this species would you leave me a comment please? It's from our garden where I had to rescue an overgrown path.

There are 2 Mysteries:

1) What do they open, close, or give access to?

2) If I don't know, why do I keep them?
