Fields and meadows among the Glencoe mountain ranges bursting with green lush life and textures. The sky was grey and miserable but it was just a wonderful place to walk, explore and appreciate this beauty of purest nature...

Kirkjufell, or 'Church Mountain', is a distinctly shaped peak found on the north shore of Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula, only a short distance away from the town of Grundarfjörður. It is often called ‘the most photographed mountain in Iceland’ due to its dramatic formation and perfect coastal location.

I composed this photograph while on a recent road trip through Canada's Banff National Park.

The image features Bow Lake and Bow Mountain as they appear on a sunny summer day, and on the left, a corner of Crowfoot Glacier peeks through. And as one walks along the lake's shore, it is pleasing to see families picnicking together, kids swimming and kayaks gently negotiating the blue-green waters.

Happy summer, everyone!

Recent images have highlighted the precarious situation endured by Mountain Hares in the Highlands.

Having adapted for winter conditions, snow cover remained scarce as unseasonal wet weather persisted.

No doubt this Mountain Hare enjoyed the comfort of a sudden cold snap !

One from Saturday in the mountains taken with the 70-200mm. Summits on display starting with the closest in the shadows: Sron na Creise, Stob na Doire with a little light hitting the top, Stob na Broige basking in full light and Bidean nam Bian looming in the murk, centre frame, away in the distance. I think I've got that right!

Rainbow Mountain is a broad glaciated summit forming the northeastern wall of the Callaghan Valley in the Pacific Ranges of British Columbia, Canada. Located in the middle of the Sea to Sky Country, the mountain is just 9 km (5.6 mi) northwest of the resort town of Whistler, and is a popular destination for hiking, snowshoeing and ski touring.

Winter has arrived in New Mexico. Recent snowstorms had dumped a fair amount of snow in the higher elevations, as evidenced by the snow cover down to the foothills of the Jemez mountains. The bulk of the Jemez is obscured by that big fog bank that kept hanging around. In my opinion, the best light happens when when a storm is on its way out and the clouds break up. If you look carefully, you can make out the water tower of the Cochiti pueblo and parts of the Cochiti reservoir dam.
