A view of Mount Christo Rey and the surrounding area from Transmountain Drive in El Paso, Texas. Mt. Christo Rey lies partially in El Paso, Texas, part in New Mexico and part in old Mexico (Ciudad Jarez). El Paso is in the foreground, and Mexico lies behind the new mountain. The taller mountains are all in Mexico. The Rio Grande River runs by the mountain though the lowest point in the valley. In the foreground, you can see a bit of the native Chihuauan Desert vegetation.

I took on the entire Berg Lake Trail in Mount Robson Provincial Park yesterday. Round trip, it is over 50 kilometres in length. I made it to Berg Lake and back in 9 hours and 7 minutes. You spend almost all your time on the trail hiking in this behemoths shadow. Once the valley opens up to Berg Lake itself, pictures do not do the place justice. It rendered me speechless. It was a day well spent and I'm very happy I took on such a crazy journey.
Mount Lycabettus is a Cretaceous limestone hill in the Greek capital Athens. At 300 meters (908 feet) above sea level, its summit is the highest point in Athens and pine trees cover its base. The hill is a tourist destination and can be ascended by the Lycabettus Funicular, a funicular railway which climbs the hill from a lower terminus at Kolonaki.

FROM WIKIPEDIA:
Mount St. Helens is best known for its catastrophic eruption on May 18, 1980, at 8:32 a.m., the deadliest and most economically destructive volcanic event in the history of the United States.
Fifty-seven people were killed; 250 homes, 47 bridges, 15 miles of railways, and 185 miles of highway were destroyed.
A massive debris avalanche triggered by an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale caused an eruption that reduced the elevation of the mountain's summit from 9,677 ft to 8,363 ft, replacing it with a 1 mile wide horseshoe-shaped crater. The debris avalanche was up to 0.7 cubic miles in volume.
The Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument was created to preserve the volcano and allow for its aftermath to be scientifically studied.
>Within 15 minutes of the eruption, a vertical plume of volcanic ash rose over 80,000 feet.
>The volcanic ash cloud drifted east across the United States in 3 days and encircled Earth in 15 days.

A night view over the iconic three sisters of the controlled hazard reduction and land management burns surrounding Mount Solitary in the Blue Mountains, Australia.
A panoramic photo from Mount Arabella. I would argue, despite the shorter distance summiting Mount Arabella is harder than summting Mount Ararat. This is due to the Heaven's Gate Trail East (starting from HWY 6) has way more ups and downs. Mount Ararat trail from the Red Deer Trail is mostly flat until you summit Mount Ararat. Heaven's Gate on the East immediately tackles an unnamed mountain, with lots of ups and downs slurping lots of energy,
Mount Kenya shot from the verandah of Rhino Retreat in the Aberdares National Park. From here it is about 62 km or 38 miles to the summit.
Mount Kenya is the second highest mountain in Africa after Kilimanjaro, at a whopping 5,199 metres above sea level. There is always some snow and ice at its summit. Rhino Retreat itself is just below the 2,500 metre mark.
There is usually cloud on the summit in the afternoons, at least as viewed from the west. This was a much clearer afternoon than average. There is a big rain storm coming in on the left edge of shot, off to the south. Luckily, it missed us.

An interesting bit of gold mining history related to Mount Pisgah ...
Near the saddle on the backside of Whitney at the 13,400ft level with 2 miles to the 14,500ft summit. With late afternoon weather coming in, it's a race to summit and descend to safety before the thunderstorms hit.
