Mount Kenya viewed from Meru County towards the last of the evening sunlight. At 5199 metres, Mount Kenya is the second highest peak in Africa after Kilimanjaro.
In this Mount recorded the steps involved in making hard cider, presenting an image of life on a farm in Setauket, Long Island that is vivid and cheerful, but also a thinly veiled allusion to current events.A newspaper story published in connection with the painting suggested the Mount modeled each figure as a reference to a participant in the presidential campaign of 1840,in which the Whigs defeated the Jacksonian democrats by promoting their candidate,William Henry Harrison,as a common man who would rather drink cider in a cabin than move into the White House.
Mount Longonot is a stratovolcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya, Africa. It probably last erupted in the 1860s. Its name is derived from the Maasai word oloonong'ot, meaning "mountains of many spurs" or "steep ridges".
It you pay $30 you can walk the 7.5km along the ridge plus the 3km from and to the gate . Yes, Kenya is not cheap.
A portrait of a mountain, and a fine example of car-tography. A process in which a photographer drives to a view point, takes a photograph a few feet from one's car, then drives away...

This shot of Mount Rundle was unplanned and unexpected. I was driving into Banff, Alberta with my brother as the sun was setting, and out of the corner of my eye I caught the sun illuminating the tip of the mountain, reflecting in the lake below. Thankfully my brother is very supportive of my hobby, so he pulled off the side of the road and waited a good long while for me to set up this shot. To this day, it's my favorite of my collection.

At first glance, one might think this is Uluru, but they would be mistaken. Mount Connor is often called Fool-Uru.

The black streaks on the left were from that eruption.

"Ascending to 14,410 feet above sea level, Mount Rainier stands as an icon in the Washington landscape. An active volcano, Mount Rainier is the most glaciated peak in the contiguous U.S.A., spawning six major rivers. Subalpine wildflower meadows ring the icy volcano while ancient forest cloaks Mount Rainier’s lower slopes. Wildlife abounds in the park’s ecosystems."

Mount Rainier also known as Tahoma or Tacoma, is a large active stratovolcano in Cascadia located 59 miles (95 km) south-southeast of Seattle, Mount Rainier National Park. With a summit elevation of 14,411 ft (4,392 m), it is the highest mountain in the U.S. state of Washington, and of the Cascade Range of the Pacific Northwest, the most topographically prominent mountain in the contiguous United States, and the tallest in the Cascade Volcanic Arc.
