I finally made up my mind about the hair so I again making progress. All the hair will be in blue glass and dark black blue glass. Then I will add beads around the hairline after grouting. sigh slowly but surely.

Mixed tess mosaic - pottery, broken plates, found objects

I spent all day yesterday grouting the bench. It was a LONG and tedious process - very difficult to get right. My hands are totally chewed up. But the effort paid off and I'm very pleased with my front porch bench.

A study of the Catalonian architect-artists Antoni Gaudi and Josep Maria Jujol inspired me to put more curves in my work. The holey filled gate in this stained glass mosaic is inspired by the wonderful art of Barcelona and by Mediterranean colours.

This is the mother of one of my friends who has been coming by the studio lately. She's made several beautiful mosaics. Yesterday she brought by this old picture that she had repainted and then covered in iridescent paper and then a layer of broken glass. We grouted it and I think it turned out beautifully!

The picture does not do this custom mosaic bulldog justice. Where you see a lot of gray that is not all grout. I used gray stained glass to give him more dimension.

Well, I finished grouting it tonight and after a lot of study, actually figured out which end is up. Yeah!

This totally a random doodle using as much iridescense and bright colors as I could. It sparkles so pretty!

I've been commissioned to do a mosaic for Fr. Pete Lopez who is leaving Corpus Christi Cathedral next month. He has been awarded the title, "Angel of the Arts", and this mosaic will be presented to him at a big gala in June.

I had my good friend, Mary, paint the ribbon for me, and now I can proceed with the mosaic. It's 14x18.

The former quilter in me comes out to play in my stained glass mosaic art once in awhile! This mosaic is on a 10 inch mirror frame.

I made this out of black iridescent glass and tempered glass. I put two different kinds of iridescent paper under the tg, but it doesn't show well in this picture. I'll try to replace the picture under different lighting.
