Tulpen, tulpen en nog eens tulpen. De regenbuien van afgelopen dagen hebben ook zo hun voordelen. :-)
A day of on/off rain surrounded by large convective cloud, this dropped a fair amount of rain over scunthorpe, the rain was just beginning to fall being illuminated by the sun to the west

Once again while looking for something else I came across this. Here a BNSF Kansas City to Peoria, IL train M-KCKEPE heads through Knoxville, IL on a super June morning on the Peoria Sub out of Galesburg. If my memory serves me right, this was a TP&W train, or at least a TP&W powered train that BNSF originated at Argentine. Despite being owned by CEFX, these SD45T-2s look 95% SP, and maybe even look better than they did while working for their proper owner.
As I wandered back towards my car, I looked back and this was the scene - the track I had been following can be seen in the tussock grasses.

After another 7 inches yesterday my drive way is starting to resemble an Olympic Luge track...... so what harm is one more flake going to do?
I'm a sucker for C636's, especially BN C636's and I've traded for and bought a ton of slides of them over the years. Credit Greg Stadter for this awesome view from 1976 of BN 4362 and friends blasting off at Skamania WA. Chuck Schwesinger collection.
Zoom in on this one...the feathers!
So funny, the Grackles took their turns on this perch, puffing up to look intimidating...no one was fooled.

The tulips at RHS Hyde Hall Gardens have been stunning this year.
Many thanks for all the kind comments and faves - they're very much appreciated :)
A mother grizzly and her cub had just finished eating a salmon carcass in the tall grasses by the water's edge, and the silvery-coloured cub, which had been mostly hidden in the grass, came out to the water's edge, as if to look for more salmon. Chilko Lake, BC.

I love the chaos of the desert year round, and when the spring colors hit, to my mind it can be the best place in the world.

This is Ben More on the Isle of Mull, Scotland. There is no higher mountain further South on the British Isles. I took this from a passing bus. I really should get off the bus and take some proper. static shots. The mountain looks like the side profile of a giant face lying down and facing skywards.
