is this a real Monet ??
I had to post this after watching a BBC show called "fake or fortune"

apparently only one wealthy family in France has the right to say if a painting is a fake or real Monet(y)
"Wave" is a travelling sculpture comprising a couple of thousand poppies ex the original work at the Tower of London. We went to see it at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, last week.
I have to say that I was pretty disappointed. The area in which it was set was overgrown with weeds and the wave actually flowed into stagnant water.
There was no vantage point from which you could get a decent shot, basically because, as in my rendition, virtually the whole "Wave" was shrouded in dark shadow, despite glorious sunshine all around. I had to resort to climbing over two fences to get my shot, only to be suitably admonished by one of the stewards who seemed to be spending most of her time apologising to the large numbers of frustrated "snappers" who couldn't get a decent shot......or is it me?

p.s. have not seen the film since the 70's, it was found with traded art and posters in my garden shack. In spite of the atmospheric changes the films were in remarkably good condition; they were kept in a metal ammunition container we used to buy at army surplus stores in the 70'
