Somewhere in the Paaxpaaj Sector an illor watches with idle curiosity as the ultraspeed monorail goes by.
Build 5 for RebelLUG's Vignweek contest, the prompt being "Space".
It's a far cry from the Pennsylvania Railroad it once was. CSX train Q206 with NS and KCS power up front rolls west at almost 60 mph passing the recent (2015) connections tracks to the BNSF Beardstown line at Smithboro, IL.
Some people wonder what Modern Art is all about, some people wonder what the point of it is. All art is an expression of the artist, it's their projection into reality of their imagination. Here there are three steel spheres standing in a pool of water, what does it mean ? Whatever you imagine it to mean! It could be anything, or it could just be what it is. Art of any kind can not be explained, it is entirely open to the viewer's interpretation of what they feel about it.

Not only do we see a car driving through this intersection, but a whole row of electric scooters for hire stand waiting for customers.
I rarely take photographs of myself so it's kind of funny that I chose a day where I had basically just gotten off a plane from Chicago to Edinburgh without sleeping (The day before,, mind you, I had my first endoscopy and colonoscopy!), and instead of freshening up, I hit the ground running to get vegan haggis for the first time (It's actually REALLY good and I hadn't had solid foods in awhile!) and see modern art. Priorities....flying for me and not sleeping feels basically the same as the second day of a music festival when I have stayed up all night editing photos....which is what I was doing the weekend before my endoscopy and colonoscopy....I expect so much of my body and wonder when it's just going to say, "Peace out, I'm done here!"
Anyway, I walked into this bathroom at The Modern Two after seeing an exhibit called Women in Revolt, documenting the feminist movement in Scotland and England since the 70s (I just loved the sign If Men Could Get Pregnant, Abortion Would Be a Sacrament!) The colors here just immediately brightened up my mood and I instantly felt like I could walk ten more miles with 30+ pounds of my camera equipment, which I then did (more vegan haggis for dinner!)
I'm rambling. What I am trying to say is that I liked this bathroom and vegan haggis and feminism and colors.

It was 152 years ago that Union Pacific & Central Pacific met in Promontory Summit for the driving of the golden spike, included was world famous photo of the two locomotives nose-to-nose.
Fast forward to modern day, where UP and CP (though a different CP) recreated this moment with their modern power.
UP brought their "Support the Troops" and CP brought their "D-Day Salute" to Train Days at Union Depot.
Thank you Steve G and Jeff Terry for hosting this great photoshoot.
Typical of modern Central Business District life in Singapore is the Office Tower at 6 Battery Road. Glass enclosed entrance features included eating options, concierge service counter, sofa seating area, water features, internal vegetated wall and a back-lit onyx wall.
...very funny. This image was posted in 2014 and popps up again now all of a sudden ...? Anyone has a similar experience in this miraculous world of flickr ???? :-)))
Housatonic NX-13 holds in Pittsfield yard awaiting CSX Q425 to clear. CSX 3271 brings up the rear of the westbound freight as the DPU (Distributed Power Unit), along with gondolas loaded with large granite blocks. Note the comparison of the modern GE ET44AC Tier 4 and 1952 built EMD GP7 which shows how locomotives have transitioned through the years.
The stark contrast between modern architecture featuring building materials such as steel and glass and traditional religious architecture featuring stone and religious icons became evident during a bike ride. The National Gallery of Canada is located near to the Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
