SAN DIEGO (Dec. 24, 2014) Amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5) returns to San Diego, Dec. 24 following the completion of its final Western Pacific deployment. Peleliu completed Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2014 and conducted joint force amphibious operations in the U.S. 3rd and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and Commander, Amphibious Squadron 11 (CPR 11) while supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. SAN DIEGO (April 17, 2015) Quartermaster 2nd Class Jonathan Duffie, winner of the "first kiss" lottery, greets his wife Leah Duffie following the guided-missile frigate USS Gary (FFG 51) return to Naval Base San Diego after completing its final deployment where it operated in the U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet and U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations.
