SAN DIEGO (June 22, 2016) The littoral combat Ship USS Coronado (LCS 4) departs Naval Base San Diego on an independent deployment to the Western Pacific. Prior to proceeding to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations, Coronado will participate in exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC). SAN DIEGO (Dec. 24, 2014) Amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5) returns home following the completion of a Western Pacific deployment, the ship’s last. Peleliu completed Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2014 and conducted joint force amphibious operations in the U.S. 3rd and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and Commander, Amphibious Squadron 11 (CPR 11) while supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. Vandegrift participated in Operation Martillo, a U.S., European and Western Hemisphere partner-nation effort targeting illicit trafficking routes in coastal waters by Central America. Of interest to fellow Merlin / Swift enthusiasts..Former London Transport #MB306 is now in new ownership in Australia and is noted as being in straight condition. Original running gear , interior tidy , needs seating recovered , couple of new panels , and is going back to original LT red livery. Awaiting its journey to its new owner in Sydney , new photographs will be posted on its arrival. MB306 entered service from Sidcup(SP)garage in 1968 and was an export to Australia in 1976. Can anyone supply its full LT history , with dates and garage allocations ?. This photograph posted with permission of owner.
