Had an hour spare so Luther and I went down to the soon to be closed forever Matrix Climbing Wall in Sheffield..

"Overview

Small, naturally featured/textured bouldering wall with many bolt-on holds and campus board. Open to the general public. Whiteboard with marked problems, using font grades. Problems are reset aproximately every six weeks, or longer depending on university semester dates. Opened in October 2002, and part of Sheffield University's Goodwin Sports Centre"

On 31st March 1999, The Matrix went on general release in the US. It’s probably my favourite movie...or documentary, depending on your viewpoint....we live in strange times...

Strobist info:

Key light was Nikon speedlight in a 30cm round collapsible softbox high camera right. A fill light - another Nikon speedlight at low power inside a white plastic bag - was mounted at body height on the same light stand. The rim light was a third Nikon speedlight with a grid placed on the ground camera left. Triggered wirelessly using Yongnuo YN-622 triggers

I LOOOOVE the way this pendant turned out!

This stone is subtle, with rivers of red fossilized algae, but the setting is not! This gorgeous piece of art for your neck is guaranteed to make a statement!

What is this odd-looking stone?

Mary Ellen Jasper, also known as a type of Stromatolite, is a fossilized dark red algae with Hematite throughout the matrix. Stromatolites were the dominant life form in marine environment thousands of years ago.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to GETTY IMAGES, and the 23.258+ Million visitors to my FLICKR site.

To people who did not watch the movie or just don't get what this photo represents :) -

This was inspired by a scene in the movie "The Matrix" (made by the Wachowski brothers), when the main character (named Neo) has arrived to meet a man called Morpheus who claims that Neo has been "living in a dream world", referring to the theme of the movie. At this point Neo is being handed two regular pills that look like normal cough drops; one red and one blue. Now he can choose one or the other. The red will let him join Morpheus and the others, and find out the truth about the part he has to play in a war no one even knows about; the blue will take him back to normal life and let him forget everything that happened, wake up, and think that it was all a dream... I think you can guess which one he picked already, huh? Anyway, I figured this was a nice idea to turn into a photograph :)

this has been a popular element in tattoo design, I just thought I'd try my hand at it... (ugh so hard so much concentration) there is one big mistake, it's there, not easy to spot so I wont point it out

An old dried leaf, super close-up. I had other versions of the leaf with more in focus, but I liked this one because the bokeh really took on a cool form as the filaments went out of focus (espeically on the right).

I've thought about share this picture with you all. It happened 2 nights ago when my light orb tool malfunctioned on me it was flicking on and off while I was spinning it. Something wrong with the wire. But I already fixed it recently. Anyway it gave the light orb an Matrix effect. Cool, huh? I've decided to keep it not throw it away.
