John Robert Mason, 1900-1997 was an afroamerican self-taught artist who was working as "artist in residence" in a restaurant. He and his works attracted so many people that the owner of the restaurant offered him free breakfast for lifetime !
This was the first drawing I have ever seen of this artist, I came across on eBay and was fascinated by the very unique style of this particular drawing with the sun with a face , very stylized trees, birds, a bicycle and the typographic arrangement of date and signature looking like a logo-banner. An artist with his very own style and really one of a kind !
