The Park School (renamed in 2001 with Mandela present) is a part of Toronto history since 1853. It was rebuilt in 1917 (C.H. Bishop), added to and renovated in 2013. The rebuilt school accommodated over 1200 students. After renovation is was only about 40% full. The Regent Park neighbourhood is growing vertically. It is quite possible that in few years the school will be too small for the area population. The main entrance is now closed; the access is from the back on the building.

The Nelson Mandela Bridge in Zoetermeer, a bicycle and pedestrian bridge, was built in 1992. It is 180 meters long and connects Het Plein van de Verenigde Naties (Square of the United Nations} in the Rokkeveen district, south of the highway A12, with the Boerhaavelaan. It 's not only crossing the highway, but also two railroad-lines.
The bridge was designed by the architect J. Bak. He created a totally enclosed bridge in blue-yellow, the colors of the coat of arms of Zoetermeer. The artwork on the bridge, an undulating stainless steel band that separates pedestrian and bicycle path, is a work of the artist Arnold Hamelberg.
