This was an idea that did not turn out liked I imagined. :o[ It's "ok"...just not like my vision.

It's quite small...about 2 inches. The leaf cane slices are tiny.

Just two of the many photographers who, like me, are drawn to the Port Washington, Wisconsin lighthouse.

I am a Kent artist and enjoy watching my pets and other beasties, and try to capture their antics in paint.

In 2016 Mexico City changed its official name from "DF", Distrito Federal, to Ciudad de Mexico “CDMX”.

Parque de la Bombilla has one of the popular and new city logos that are a magnet for climbing on.

Mexico's sprawling capital changed its official name in January 2016 as it launched steps to become virtually like a federal state.

For the past two centuries, the city has been known as "DF" from its official name of Mexico Distrito Federal, or Federal District.

But now the city of 10 million will be known as Ciudad de Mexico, or CDMX.

That is the Spanish version of what the city is already called by English speakers: Mexico City.

Just like the US capital of Washington, Mexico City is distinct from the various states that make up the rest of the country, and it is closely controlled by the federal government based there.

Under its new status it will acquire some of the same functions as Mexico's 31 regular states, with a constitution and congress holding legislative powers over public finance and security.

It will also gain access to large sums of federal funding. Its mayor will become like a state governor in all but name.

The transformation began when President Enrique Pena Nieto signed the reform into force.

The process officially completed in 2017 when the city's new constitution was approved.

The federal government's influence over the leadership of DF has been a source of controversy among city politicians so the change is hoped to limit the interference.

I rearranged the pieces on the magnet board on my desk. I really love adding bits and bobs from wonderful artists who either sell their work through etsy or swap them through the 'Bot. It inspires me a lot seeing all this wonderful colorful goodness :)

A loaded train of ore concentrate from Magnetation bound for Reynolds, Indiana passes Borea, WI en route to the Hinckley Sub and points south.

The variance in the human race always amazes me:

On the one hand you see shy or introvert people (like me),

behave as conventionally as possible, and are embarrassed when get attention;

on the other hand you meet extrovert people,

that behave in a way that makes them mighty magnets of attention.

Let's hope everyone get what (s)he wants;

and everyone gives what is needed (by everybody else)

p.s.

You may find (half of) this impressive 'African Queen' with her strong gaze and slight pain in the eyes, deep down my stream, in a photo from a few years ago.

The magnetic fly-screen had seen better days so before we trashed it we rescued the magnets, endless fun moving them around on the fridge.

Using liquid clay and a simple cane. I've had this idea in my mind for a very long time...I'm happy it came to life. :)

The transluscent clay is hard to photograph! The purple/green flower is much prettier in person.

Some sweet little magnets. They're carved into smooth stones that I gathered and then rubbed with beeswax. The tan one has a natural fissure that looks like the leaf veining.

For sale in the Kasbah des Oudayas in Rabat.

Designed a collectable magnet set for Perth's William Street Collective as part of 'Popsicle', featuring a range of businesses down the strip, including my studio. Pretty fun job.

It's been awhile and I have some new additions

Super cute love birds magnet!!!

These little love birds are celebrating their love and the beginning of spring! They have a special log that they meet there all the time, and they call it love log!

Not an ordinary magnet! One of a kind...So unique...

Extremely detailed with lovely vivid colors.

It is made of polymer clay, a natural branch and a strong rare earth magnet. I have painted the eyes and details on their tails with acrylic colors.

Size: 2cm x 6.7cm

Nearly complete collection of Minifee hands, in order going clockwise from 1 to 9 and the 2014 event archer's gloves.

Missing are:

- #2 aka the "heart hands" (hence the gap)

- the Break Away event parts

- the Tikka wolf paws

- the *Fairy line mermaid webbed finger hands

Just a few words of advice:

- if you are looking for hands for the boys 1, 5 and 7 are probably the biggest and least dainty.

- 6 and 9 both have pointed finger nails so they make a nice set

-the right hands of 7 and 8 are probably the best at holding things

- 2/"heart" also look great for holding hands (i didn't know that when i opted out of ordering them)

Made for my RATZ swap partner. These are 1/4 inch hexagons, handsewn and then blanket stitched to a felt backing with a magnet. (And yes, that is the back of a paper plate---I only use the finest in backgrounds, lol!)

The theme for this week (on January 3) is "Magnets"
