Day 31
These interviews never fail to drain the life out of my day, or at least it seems like that lately. But unlike the other days, the rest of my day wasn't too much of a write off. I spent time with my mom at the mall. There are a lot of Lunar New Year decoration up, I believe that it's on the 23rd of this month. Its the year of the dragon! Yay, go my astrological sign.
I sent the evening at Paint Lounge to plan out Winterlicious. It was amusing to see all of us trying to figure out what kind of food we wanted, then figuring out which restaurant we wanted was quite a feat! One person didn't like Indian, another didn't want French, then we realized that weekday for lunch would not work for our schedules. In the end we settled for a restaurant and perhaps the Toronto Symphony Orchestra afterwards as well. Then we proceeded to play Risk on one of the iPads. It's easier and not at the same time to play virtually. The night ended off with our congregation migrating to my friend's house and just walking the dog and talking about random things into the night. I like times like these, I have all my closest friends in one room together having amusing conversations together.
whenever I find one of these I usually pick it and if someone I love is with me I hand it to them, for luck.
I know it's superstitious, but it is a fun way to show affection.
I've been hiking quite a bit lately, stopping to meditate, really enjoying the solitude. Using the time to reflect and to just let nature wash over me.
One impact of photography that I have noticed, is that it keeps my head up. I remember before I was given a camera, I used to look at the ground when I walked or hiked. Everything is different now. I look up, and around, I see things that I would have previously missed. I don't always need to take a photo, but I do appreciate the experience.
On this hike, it was all up and around. No one could take their eyes off of the drama that nature was providing. It was splendid.
The few times I looked down, or sat and rested, I saw one of these. I gave them to myself this time.
Superstition I know.

Photos from the 2012 Indianapolis Colts training camp, held at Anderson University August 15, 2012. Gone were the regulars at the training camp, with new players and free agents taking their place. Reggie Wayne and Adam Vinatieri returned to compliment newcomers like Stanford rookie quarterback Andrew Luck and of course the new head coach Chuck Pagano and temporary head coach Bruce Arians. The season ended up relatively successful, with the Colts going 11-5, good enough for second place in the AFC South

Okay, I had finished weeding my Mom's garden and I was bored. It sits on a hill, so and I and my tripod were twisted into a pretzel, trying to line this up and avoid the other plants. I'd love to tell you it was so well thought out and I studied the composition and blah, blah, blah. Actually I just focused on the big bloom and thought I'd take the shot before I fell over and/or the sun got on it. But luck does count. At least in pictures.
