It was lovely and sunny on the beach this morning and I spent more time down there, than I had intended :)
Rainbow liveried GBRf 66720 pulls into the Ely Up Goods Loop with a Doncaster to Felixstowe liner.
A day at Ely watching trains. Identifying workings was a little bit of a nightmare with bidirectional workings, and trains scheduled for the goods loop passing through the station and vice versa. Also a major orientation malfunction meant I couldn’t get to grips with up/down/north/south …. I gave up in the end and just enjoyed watching trains.

Blinding sun, and black storm clouds, and a brisk breeze. A heavy shower drove me to return home.

Like a writing exercise extended. I’ve got two L’s in my name. I love making them. This one is finished and ready for the flat files and naming.

This original animation layout drawing of Loopy de Loop was created by a Hanna-Barbera artist in development of scene 3 in the animated cartoon. The cartoon starts off with the kind-hearted Loopy on an idyllic walk through the "beautiful forest...where all the little creatures can play." When a scared rabbit runs by with a "hungry wolf" in hot pursuit, Loopy sets out: "I must stop that big bad wolf."
The Loopy de Loop cartoons were the first theatrical releases produced by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera after they left Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and established their own studio. The series starring the French wolf debuted in 1959 and ran into 1965.
The artist wrote the designation "K-28 Sc 3" at upper right and "6" at lower right to indicate this drawing's place in the film.

I saw an appliqued flower on a leather bag. Each round of petals were a different design, and the first round was this loop fringe. I started playing around with some scraps of leather (on the train to work, got some weird looks when I pulled out my scissors, hmmm, shouldn't be surprised, it IS NYC)
Anyway, this was the result. Very textural, I keep touching it. So now I have to go to storage and dig up my leather scraps, as, of course, I now feel the urge to make it in lots of colors.

Sunday morning wander around the Southside and Old Town. Quiet streets, colourful details and that lovely warm light which signals an Edinburgh Autumn.
Monitor picture rotated 180 degrees in software, camera view lined up exactly with boarders of preview window. The symmetry it forms seems to even out the picture and keep it more interesting, spontaneously generating lots of artifacts (as seen).
Brighton Grove, Newcastle (westbound), 26.0.2010. Yes! Unbelievable as it may seem. This is a cycle lane: see parked-over bike symbol on tarmac for proof.
well i was supposed to head to cornwall for a sunny weekend of photography but the weather forecast caved on friday afternoon so the mission was aborted.
i instead headed into london on Sunday for a fairly aimless wander.
i've seen plenty of cool shots taken of this fountain on southbank so thought i would give it a crack on my way past ... very amusing watching people get soaked when they don't intend too (granted the unpredicatable strong winds didn't help their chances!)
To celebrate a new alliance between my kin and another, we ran a synchronized horse train through Bree in Lord of the Rings Online.
The townsfolk were amused. :)
