A submission to Sliders Sunday, where over-processing is encouraged. This plant was seen at the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney.

I play snooker, not well, but I do enjoy a game with Alan my Brother-in-law and friends at Meopham Country Club. Melanie works with a chap called Ben who has his own snooker management company as well as working for the bank. So, Ben has obtained for us some tickets to watch two days of this years snooker World Championships at the Crucible in Sheffield. We are staying up in Sheffield for five days, we have an AirB&B and will be doing some tourist stuff too as well as visiting one of the best Indian Restaurants, Urban Choola, can't wait!

Yes, it's candy packaged in a little plastic toilet. The plunger is a lollypop and the toilet bowl is full of watermelon-flavoured dipping powder. What a world!

Large lightning strike captured North of Gawler The lights in the foreground are the Country Fire Service traveling in convoy to the Eden valley to fight fires caused by this type of event. The next image shows some of the effects of the fire.

I am desperately trying to get back to a regular "Flickr schedule". Please be patient with me, dear contacts!

More new images in my ongoing "Luna Park" series. Summer is inspiring!

This was at the Racine (WI) Zoo. I'm not sure what this plant is, but it seems that it should be related to an onion.

Below is a group of them without quite so much curl!

A spin on the pigeon I posted over a week earlier, using a technique used to create popular little-planet pictures.

With a friendly wave, the engineer of NHSE begins to work the dynamic brakes for the steep downgrade from here in downtown Beacon, NY to the "Waterlevel Route" a little over a mile away. The train is facing due south while passing the New Haven tri level depot. By time it reaches Metro North, it will pass over the Hudson Line facing west and turn due north to join the high iron for the rest of the run to Selkirk.

This is a small portion of my daughters collection of lalaloopsy dolls. She calls them loopies and makes me take photos of them all the time. I took this shot just for the collection of colour that these dolls have.

Art from those red elastic bands that postmen leave everywhere.

People complain, but there are a zillion uses for elastic bands found on streets.... perfect freecycling

We didn't see many wildflowers on our Death Valley trip that year. It was nice to see some showy Lupine, though!

Ther are many species of Lupine, but I believe the ID is correct.

I finally finished the African Violets batt from Loop that I started back in September. Yes, you read right, September. This skein is 4.3 oz., about 220 yards, single sport weight and very consistent.

Another quick snap from our visit to Knightshayes Court in Devon yesterday.

The lovely balustrade of the stairs at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh.

It creates a really nice set of curved lines, especially when set against the vertical lines of the wall.

A Looper Moth (Sauris malaca) posing on one of our drain pipes.

Taken at Kirstenbosch Gardens, Cape Town, South Africa.

These pipes usually have colored bands and the series of colors in invariant in an image, or at least it is invariant within a region within the image. What has long fascinated me about this sort of thing is just this sort of consistency.
