A quiet Canada Day long weekend at White Sands on Buffalo Lake.
There are always lots of birds to see at George's cabin, so this goldfinch was an easy capture.
This is a river otter not a sea otter. River otters spend a lot of time on land. Sea otters hardly never! They feed, sleep and procreate in the ocean!
The highway as we leave Algonquin Park accepting the fact that we have to drive all the way home in the dark (3 hours). The longest drive; Beanie was driving...

Started painting the other day and all last night. Put up paint in the dining room and I hate the color...it's suppose to be a beige but it looks very yellow and reminds me of the institution yellow that use to be in the bathroom which is now a nice green. Have a great long weekend (for Canadians) and a great weekend (for non-Canadians).

Temperature ---> cold but nice - just a few degrees Celcius above zero.
Person ---> ( happy ) me : )
Colour ---> tirquoise - celebrating it in winter!
Clothes ---> layers...many!
Life saver ---> this pair of gloves with a fleece lining! They are attached to a long woolen cord, so I didn't have to worry about storing or loosing them.

From the 4th of July Weekend.
Went up to the in-laws for a mini-vacation on the long weekend to Meaford and then to Southampton. I've always seen this sign in Arthur on the way up and I finally stopped to get a shot.
LONG work weekend. doing things i don't like to do. crawling out of my skin. a little tired on sunday after being out too late on saturday.
i used to be an adrenaline junkie in my 20's... loved working the code team... running around watching people try to live or die... pretty intense stuff. then I had kids and I was sick of that shit...too much drama with life alone...
now i'm pissed when I have to engage in that same mindset... i just want to do my job, and do it well... without all the stress.... I like to take care of the postpartum moms... talk to them, teach them, accomplish tasks that other people don't like to do.
but this weekend was my high risk day and my labor day..... take care of sick people and birth. blah. i made it out alive and that's all that counts.
no time for a photo... too busy making sure babies were happy in the process of getting out ;) deserved this when I got home...
too bad I don't really like baths... hot tubs, yes!... baths are gross
