Opera Nova is the longlasting constuction place in the city. It took 30 years and it's not completed as yet.
This is my much loved hot water bottle cover. Made in about 1995 and still going strong. I made up the pattern as I went along, fitting it around the hot water bottle as I worked, to get a snug fit.
I used a wool rich yarn, two strands together if I remeber rightly. The cover is longer than the bottle so that it covers well and stays closed at the bottom. The top has a flap that tucks in envelope style to close and opens easily for filling the bottle without having to remove the whole cover.
I use Fashy hot water botles, which seem to last forever.

The lonely bicycle was piled & buries with the fallen leaves at the corner somewhere at the street, bicyle was the methphor of the human being, and fallen leaves were the methphor of all kinds of information, thoughts around us & impact on us in the world.
There are more and more natural disasters occured at all aspects from the climates down to earthquakes in recent years, which become the warn sign to people all over the world. Some of them are due to human bening's industries revolution & over consumption issue in life for the centuries, which brought us the pollution from the air till our mind in depth. The environment we lives in physical and we think in mind was polluted more or more. All kinds of words, sound, symbols related to the racial, the gender , the social status, and the country discrimination etc we created annoyed our soul & mind and caused more or more wars conflict from the people around the the world. All kinds of the air, water, food pollutions from all kinds of electronic & medical industries & instruments bring huge impact to our life & enfluence to our health.
Here I try to utilze & combine some different elements such as the leaves, the flowers, the sky, the mountain, the fog , rain & wind from the nature, and the railway station, the light, graffitti from the artifical world , and create the image which like the symbol or metaphor about what we breathe, we listen, we saw and we live together now in daily life .
With all these messy stuffs we got from the life and the world day by day , and it become the disturbance to our mind , and hard to seek the beauty of the clarity & the simplicity of the world we live and the mind we used to own. Let's try our best not only decrease the air pollution from the nature, but also simpify ourself from thoughts to mind if posssible from now on . And hope we can enjoy the happiness of simplicity & keep the longlasting of earth moving forwards.

A widespread in Yunnan China, Assam, eastern Himalayas, Myanamar, Thailand and Vietnam as a medium to large sized, cool to warm, epiphytic or lithophytic growing species found in broadleaf, evergreen, lowland forests at altitudes of 1000-2000 meters with erect to pendulous, terete, nodally thickened, to 2' [to 60 cm] long stems carrying deciduous, oblong-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the winter with 1 to 3 fragrant, longlasting flowers on very short racemes that arise all along last years leafless canes. This species needs a definite dry period through the winter months to insure proper blooming and it can be repotted after it's spring blooming when the new growth should appear.

A Malaysian, Thai, Sumatran and Bornean [Philippines?] species found in lowland and hill forests on roadside trees at altitudes of sealevel to 700 or 900 meters as a medium to large sized, hot growing epiphyte with purple, thick, horizontal to pendulous, cylindrical stems carrying many, evergreen, reddish or purple in youth, maybe deciduous leaves that have purple veined leaf sheaths and flowers in the summer and fall on a short to 1 to 1 1/2" [2.25 to 3.75 cm], raceme with a densely few to several [2 to 6], waxy, longlasting flowers arise from the nodes at the apex of leafless canes. Fertilizer can be reduced through all the winter months but water should stay more constant with only a drier period for 1 to 2 months.
It seems there are different implication of Dragon at Eastern & Western legend , in Chinese culture, Dragon is the symbol of royal , luckiness , blessings & power etc, all in all are positive meaning , therefore the emperors of ancient Chinese dynasty normally used the dragon to describe himself. The clothes, chair of Emperor will use the dragon as the key role in the pattern, same applied to the temple, means to bless the people within the dynasty.
Of course in modern demoncrative society , no president in Taiwan dare to describe himself as the dragon anymore,but still Dragon have positive implication & blessings to the people who believe Chinese tradition.
What you saw here are the combination of 9 different stylish dragons with changable colors , the number 9 means longlasting , normally is a positive blessing to the people, country for the new year through.
How long do my orchids last? These are some long lasting orchids that still survives in my garden. This beautiful and elegant bunch of orchids whose color has also lightened and faded a bit and the last surviving orchid of its lot has also been around since early October making it 5 months old too!!
