They seem to be thinning out the pines, it smelled lovely, they didn't seem to have been cut down long!
While I do not remember where this logging engine was displayed, I do know that my son was up on the platform watching the two men below.
my best log ride ever. there are large rocks hidden under those plants below me. friend shot it, i stitched it. (i was busy riding across a log)

The first portion of the house was built in the 1780s with an additions in the 1830s. The house sits not far from the historic Forbes Road. The house was built by Samuel Hoy (Hoey). The Staymates family purchased the property in 1852 and farmed the land until the early 1900s. The last family member to live in the home was Bessie Staymates ("Miss Bessie"), who was well known and taught at local schools for 50 years. Bessie willed the house and land to the Westmoreland County Girl Scouts. The Municipality of Murrysville purchased the property in December, 1977. The MHPS conducted extensive restoration of the barn, and the MHPS and the Municipality restored the log house in 2016.
