We have been logging and not logging. The real and digital timbers have shouldered in our quest for a happier life. The virtual lumber productions have given us a smile whilst the real is warming our cockles.

The forest is slowly creeping back over the farmland.

The people had the heart to make a house for the wild birds. A house on a house. There's even a nest on top of the birds' house..

Made a third visit to the Bird Log at Capulin Spring. Started early to avoid the hard shadows of mid-morning. Very satisfying session and great way to finish our respite in New Mexico. Now back to Florida to face the defrosted steaks and dark humid and hot house. Hoping that power will be restored soon!

These are the felled trees from around the lake of Thirlmere in theLake District. There was a culling of trees there a couple of years ago :-)

This shows the steepness of the logged mountain side. There is a creek at the bottom of the slope.

Amy decided to dig into a rotting, fallen log in order to find "termites." She was a woman possessed. By the time she was finished, she had dug away at least half of the tree and she couldn' t help herself. We saw one skitter away, but more interesting was what little creatures awaited.

The log was enlarged as a seperate layer and repositioned then a little cleaning up with clone/patch/healing tools. Levels adjusted, a little bit of saturation and drop shaddow frame added.
