In Chicago's Grant park near Soldier Field, is the Gold Star Family park and Chicago Police Memorial honoring those Chicago Policemen & women who were killed in the line of duty.
Covering the ground in front of the water wall, inlaid paver bricks commemorating the lives and careers of Chicago Police. From the first officer killed, Casper Laurer to Alex Valadez, it is an impressive display of hearfelt emotion. You can't help but walk across the grounds and look down.
Just to the South of Loftus there is a delightful stretch of woodland, the Rosecroft Wood, through which the Waytail Beck flows.
Blue House Farm. The farmer has kindly planted a notice which says that this track is the footpath. It was a bit further on that things got a bit tricky, though!
Inspired by Kensington Olympia, Loftus Road represents a slice of suburban West London in the 90s and 00s. More about the layout can be found at www.worthingmrc.co.uk

The start of the walk was from the Mining Museum in Skinningrove (currently being renovated). The steps lead up to the footpath to Loftus, past old mine workings.
