Haberdasher lofts - Best lofts ever
Throughout the 90s lofts became very popular in Chicago due to the uniqueness of such properties. Exposed ductwork, tall ceilings, large windows and hardwood floors were all features that could be found in lofts throughout Chicago. However, many lacked condo quality finishes and amenities and this is where Haberdasher Square Lofts rises above the rest. Haberdasher Square Lofts is located at 728 W. Jackson in the neighborhood known as West loop.
It is conveniently located only blocks from transportation of the EL and Metra, Greek Town, UIC, and Chicago’s Business District. The historic building was built in 1925 and as recently 1995 became loft condos. While it is a loft building the finishes are condo quality, which rival the very best. The finishes include: - Hardwood Floors - Granite or Corian Countertops - Stainless Steel Appliances - Large Master Baths - Large Windows - 12ft Ceilings - Gas Fireplaces (per plan) - Exposed Brick - Exposed Ductwork These architecturally interesting lofts offer something for everyone with many plans offering unique subtle characteristics not found elsewhere. The exposed brick for instance is classic and tasteful without being “overdone,” the exposed ductwork makes you feel like you are in a loft and not a factory, and the gas fireplace makes you feel at home. The Haberdasher Lofts offer terrific amenities that many loft buildings do not offer: - 24hr Doorman - Exercise Room - Half court Basketball Court - Dry Cleaner & Taylor on Site - Roof Top Deck - Sophisticated Lobby - Heated Parking Garage On-Site Search all Lofts in Jackson Loft Corridor
Some buyers are turned away from lofts due to their high cost to heat. Exposed brick, tall windows and soaring ceilings are simply not cheap to heat at the end of the day. However, at Haberdasher your central heat is INCLUDED in your assessment! Cable TV is also included in the assessments and the established association has done a quality job keeping the assessments at a reasonable level.

♪♬♩•*¨*•.¸¸Just done watching "The Loft”. The movie has a very strong story that underlines the plot where it is going. Everyone seems to hate this movie and I can kind of understand why but to me this was a cool, sexy, twisty and entertaining thriller. I do… The Loft is told in a very non ➳ linear fashion, starting with the murder and then ping ➳ ponging all over time putting the puzzle together. This works in the film’s favor as each time we feel we have the story mapped out, another character’s arc comes into play and all hope is once again lost. As side ➳ characters, wives, and mistresses come into play; who actually done it emerges as one brutal game of Three ➳ Card Monty. Thankfully, that twist within The Loft is intelligent enough to work with head ➳ nodding approval, as opposed to many films of the same ilk who seem as though the writers simply jammed a last second revelation in just to throw us off ➳ guard. The film maintains a strong sense of atmospheric peril throughout, and as dramatic as that final turn of the screws is, it slowly begins to make logical sense and we are left with a murder ➳ mystery worth its salt. The Loft is the very antithesis of a ‘date movie’. Trust me, we’re friends. Right? ¸¸.•*¨*•♩♬♪

When entering the loft and looking to the left one can see to the corner of the entire space in the den - spaces appear much bigger when sight lines extend to other areas - vision is guided with horizontal trim and vertical posts and case dividers - fixtures extend form structural dividers - tortoise shell floor has a natural feel bringing the outdoors in and bringing the browns and greens together
Shot of the loft looking back towards the living area. 6 shot HDR blended in Enfuse in Lightroom. Imported to PS for other adjustments. Some Viveza to balance the light. Some Nik tonal contrast painted onto the logs to bring out the detail. PTlens for straigntening.
I don't know if it works or not. What say you?

The two solid wood fixtures leave space between their tops and the structural beams to allow light to pass to the space and sight lines to continue throughout - the painting from a local artist plays with the natural elements and modern aspects of the loft's design in the trees and sunset it portrays with a modern expression.

I bought this scroll on ebay for the loft (and 3 others!). I rather liked the description: This hanging scroll was written about 70 years ago. One line calligraphy is written there. I cannot read this calligraphy. But this is the good calligraphy of a strict style of handwriting. There are wrinkles. But it is still hung enough.
I thought this was a bargain for $15.50!
