During the UK wide COVID-19 lockdown I was finding it frustrating that I couldn't really venture out and shoot the sort of things I normally do. So with plenty of time on my hands indoors, I decided to set myself a little challenge, to document my family in as simple a way as possible.

Basically all I used was one main camera - my Sony A7iii and one lens - my Sigma ART 35mm f/1.4. I would shoot only in camera JPEG and use the in camera black and white profile.

In post process, all I did was some simple crop and rotation corrections. Im sure I have one leg bigger than the other - always seem to be wonky!

I really like the set of images and I might make a little book out of them. I think it captures our moods quite well. Happy one moment, and bored and sad the next.

Kinda glad we can venture out a bit more these days; even if we aren't completely out of the woods yet. The freedom feels amazing....!

The church is closed under the current lockdown and so there was no service on Remembrance Sunday. These are the tributes at the gate and at the north door.

This started as a test Zoom for an upcoming quiz using Kahoot and turned into a long discussion about life under lockdown with family stranded in SE Spain (not a hardship in most ways).

The 2021 Mauritius pilgrimage was a one of a kind, and never to be repeated again experience. With the nationwide lockdown, what was planned to be an outward adventure around the island transformed into a journey deeper within. As it is said, ‘Humans make plans, and God laughs!’

Though we remained mostly on the stunning Anelia Resort property, the days were nothing short of enriching. While much of the island quarantined at home, we had the great blessing of an ocean side, intimate quarantine with Paramahamsa Vishwananda.

The daily schedule, much more simplified then any other pilgrimage, consisted of daily abhishekams, lively kirtans, OM chanting, dozens of educational and heart opening satsangs from Guruji Himself, story sharing and discussion amongst the sangha, and of course the legendary Shivaratri!

To add to the exceptionally unique quality of this experience, we launched the first ever, incredibly successful virtual pilgrimage! The media team worked night and day to deliver top quality live footage, capturing moments that are not even seen in person! The reviews from participants were so touching and affirmative for the continuation of virtual pilgrimages to come.

It’s a challenge to put into words the ‘avalanche of grace’ that flowed from this unique chapter with the Master. So may these photos be the color and life of the many blessings from this very special Mauritius pilgrimage.

After 4 months of the Lockdown in Scotland non essential retail are finally given the go-ahead to open late April having all closed down at close of play on Christmas Eve

Consider this a companion peice to the last alkatraz picture I posted. Both of them were put together using the same technique; HDR for the landscape, non-HDR clouds.

This is actually a panorama of 3 different sets of 9 exposures... it took a long time to generate the picture, but I'm very happy with how it turned out.
