LOAD Day Three

While I am a fan of titles on my pages, today proves they might not be 100% necessary.

Journaling reads:

"I started saving & printing inspirational quotes & sayings that I found on Pinterest. One afternoon, armed with a stack of freshly printed words of wisdom & a couple rolls of washi tape, I decorated the main wall at the top of the stairs. I love seeing the pops of cool & a daily dose of motivation. 2/2014"

This is Mama (yes, really... that's his name), one of the porters on our trekking through the Annarpurna. Our guide told us that he was 65 years old... we could hardly believe it.. During the trekking he could walk past us on the steepest parts of the path and he was not getting tired... He told us he thought of stopping his work in a few years. And not because it was difficult.. no, he wanted a job in the area to be able to spend more time with his many grandchildren.. beautiful...

Lucky for us he was still on as porter because it was such a friendly and above all joyful man. Always in for a laugh..! He told us a joke that we ate soup of cow eyes or he hid our walking sticks... and he had the greatest fun at our response..! His laughter echoed through the mountains... I have a lot of fun with him....

I first saw the XXD load-ding mentioned on Acquire. I purchased it from A+R Store, which, to my knowledge is the only place you can buy it from in the U.S.

Some things to note.

1) You should use the supplied 3M stickytape to stick them together. If you don’t and your wall wart doesn’t apply enough pressure it will fall apart in the middle of the night (which is also why the thing doesn’t line up correctly in the later photos).

2) It stores flat for transport, but then the sticky stuff isn’t going to be so good for you. YMMV

3) They have a cutaway for the U.S. grounding cord if you need it. It also doubles as a mount point for a tackboard pin which they sell separately.

4) It comes in three colors: red, black, and pink. I prefer the one I got.

5) You can buy a bunch, nail them into the wall and use them to store pens and such. They even will sell it in bulk with corporate logos and shit.

An old and maybe obsolete stock loading race near Narrabri. A beautiiful morning in North West NSW with a pleasant sunrise complete with a dusty diffusion and some old rustic timber. Love living in the country!!!

A day of Amusement was anything but, I wanted to be off the bus, out of the park and in bed nursing my cold. I spent less that $20 at the park and all of it was on food. Here is the journaling: As exciting as it was to go with Emily and see them perform at and win double trophies with the Orchestra, I was sick when I left on this trip and I am sicker now. It was not a day I enjoyed, but I will enjoy the memories of the double carousel and posing in front of the bear, and the win. As I get older, amusement parks are not as much fun for my dollar.

Setting up the day's 5 bands, all on the stage so it can be moved or quickly carried to the back for load out after each performance.

We use 'vintage' tools :) This is my father's prized JCB 3C. One day soon I'll mend the cab on it. The engine and hydraulics run very sweetly, but the bodywork does look a bit scruffy these days.
