Fashion Week is Changing.
Each season we are invited into the spectacular world that is fashion week, each designer showcasing their latest collection to the select few influential names in fashion. However, nowadays we can all enter the current world of Karl, Riccardo and Christopher with every show livestreamed across the globe, Instagrams, tweets and videos alike being shared by the fashion elite. The dynamics of fashion week have been changing since the evolution of social media and the accessible communication of fashion. Not only do we now have the designers showcasing their collections live - think Fendi's flying drones for a/w 14 Milan fashion week - but the models themselves have now buildt a personality for their own. Gone are the days when the models were the faces of the brand; they're now the voice, the sound and the epitome of the fashion house. Cara Delevigne is certainly a fashion-week-force to be reckoned with, leading her storm of models at Burberry, Fendi, Giles Deacon to name a few (in which she filmed the first live instagram video from the catwalk) for us all to see the second she opened the show. A simple search of a hashtag, a quick glance onto vogue.com and you've got a full collection a mere 10 minutes after the designers have done their final bow. These days you're more likely to see a FROW culmination of fashion bloggers and 'vloggers' alongside the celebrities - think Tanya Burr sidled up with Douglas Booth and Alexa Chung at Mulberry last season. With the developments of the internet, and the e-commerce movement seen in the industry; fashion across the globe is changing. Technology has made it's mark on the industry - in 2012 671,028 tweets were sent during the shows, 46.1 million of us joined instagram and 1.74 million liked fashion related Facebook pages. I feel that the direction the fashion industry is taking is exciting, inspiring and dynamic and I cannot wait to see what the next few seasons will bring.

This weekend's activities revolved around the Sudarshana Chakra, Lord Narayanaya's famed spiritual weapon. Known for its protection of the surrendered devotees and its destruction of all negative forces, it was a timely focus for these days of Covid-19 and the fear that seems so prevalent in the world today.
Saturday started with Guru puja, followed by Kalash puja, and then the Sudarshana Yajna began. For this event, not only the main yajna kund was used, but eight individual kunds were placed around the Sudarshana murti located in front of the main temple. Simultaneously, 50 individually-sponsored yajnas were performed on the back lawn by Residents of The Ashram. After the yajnas, Gurudev also performed an abhishekam ceremony on the large murti.
The entire event was livestreamed and commented on by Rishis and Swamis who gave insights into the significance of the Sudarshana Chakra and told personal stories. On Sunday morning, Gurudev joined the prayers to sing a variety of beautiful bhajans, too.

December 19, 2014 – Mixed pod of Bottlenose Dolphins and Pilot Whales - at Taiji Japan
Early this morning at approximately 8:00am Cove Guardians could see 12 vessels heading together on the horizon. The killing fleet had spotted a pod of dolphins and wasted no time in pushing them towards Taiji - and the cove. The pod put up a tough fight and tried everything they could to escape the killers, however all their attempts at freedom were in vain as they were eventually netted off into the cove.
Today was a very profitable day for Taiji as the killers drove in both Bottlenose dolphins and Pilot Whales. We are estimating that approximately 40-45 Pilot Whales were driven in today, alongside at least 8 Bottlenose dolphins - one being a very young calf just a few months old. This young calf was seen clinging to its mothers side as they were spy hopping, confused and terrified after the exhausting drive.
The killers showed their lack of compassion as they decided to leave the pod over night, where they will be swimming in circles until their fate is decided. The weather for tomorrow is supposed to be rainy, so time will show if the pod will have to spend two nights in agony in the cove, before coming face to face with the dolphin killers.
Cove Guardians have been monitoring the pod through the day, and haunting cries can be heard over the cove as darkness descends.. Cove Guardians will be livestreaming tomorrow at approximately 6:30am, but we will update our social media with any potential changes.
