We had a three day ice storm - some ice rain, some snow, some melting, even some frost. The new buds and new growth and flowers, as well as trees are damaged. But it was beautiful.

CN 518's crew has completed their work at Cameco and prepares to head back east towards Cobourg with the empty hydrogen fluoride androxus tanker. These cars are part of Cameco's production of Nuclear Fuel Rods and the cars feature 3 placards and armour plated ends.
Still discovering some old photos buried in the archives. This is another taken on Ocean Beach, Strahan, Tasmania. It was one of the most memorable sunsets I have ever experienced. There was a warm wind blowing, the sand was soft underfoot, sitting there with friends after some stormy & busy days exploring Strahan and the Franklin River. Then this river of gold flowed into the molten gold ocean and greeted the golden sun rays striking underneath the clouds. Was one of those moments!

It's been quite a few days of wild windy autumnal weather, and today is no different, so I'll be down the beach soon. Liquid sugar is by Maps, I love the wet sand with the towering clouds washing over it, like liquid sugar.
According to the philosopher Zygmunt Bauman, liquid modernity refers to a fluidity that, far from leading us to a "lighter" living, it sends the weight of concreteness away, but doesn't give the counterpart. Where everything is fluid, transitory and without reference, everything "depends on context" and the solid bases to support us are no longer found. In order not to drown, one must learn to discern. Or we'll follow the fate of Sisyphus until the death of everything that exists.
This is one of five new swan cubs I saw today. For quite some time we didn't have a swan in the park, but this spring 5 of them arrived. After some fighting some left again and now we have a couple with 5 cubs. It appears this was their first trip around the lake with the parents watching closely...

Got some really nice warm light on this little creek late yesterday afternoon. Amazing what a few inches of snow does to the landscape.
