yes, its possible. use the latest hdparm, recent kernel, ext3 or ext4fs and the utility 'wiper.sh' from the hdparm distro.
ext4 allows 'wiping' while disk is still online (r/w).
SSD is a WD blue 64gb. its supposed to have its own 'built in wiper' for OS's that don't do a native TRIM but the TRIM command is actually supported, as well.

I have decided to give up on Linux. As aesthetically brilliant and productively outstanding for some tasks, I unfortunately can't live without Windows. It's the fault of iTunes (I have an iPod Touch), Photoshop (GIMP does not cut it; Photoshop is just a better program), and my school (they expect me to use certain Windows-supremacist programs to complete tasks). Ah well, I uploaded this just to say a little goodbye to the Linux community, as their desktops almost always look the best.

Novo bebe da casa. Passeando pelo Jardim São Paulo, do de cara com essa belezinha no meio da rua. É claro que levei pra casa, onde descobrimos que ele tem um gosto peculiar por tecnologia, por isso a escolha do nome, linux, ele ficar perseguindo a setinha do mouse, dorme em cima do celular e fica assistindo tv.

Tema GTK: Antes era "Victory-gtk" Pero de tanta modificación termino asi.
Tema XFMW4: Minimun Black Suite, un poco modificado para que fuera mas delgado.
Tratde de sacar mis mejores habiliades en el uso de inkscape para el wall y los iconos del dock, asi que si se ven medio feos disculpen.
En la captura pueden ver en lo que acabo "Victory gtk"
Bueno es una Sony Vaio corriendo Linux Mint 6 Felicia, el fondo de pantalla lo saque de aki: omns.deviantart.com/art/Mint-Arcs-Widescreen-102412232 los Ãconos de los discos duros de colores de aki: davcoccio.deviantart.com/art/ColorHD-75858265 el Ãcono de la portatil lo hice yo pero me lo piden y se los mando, el icono de la carpeta personal blanca lo saque de aki: borncold.deviantart.com/art/FOLDERS-ONE-31564830 los iconos del Office Mac aki: jamzar.deviantart.com/art/Mac-Office-Dock-Icons-83709511 y el de Messenger Mac de aki: 2shaenl.deviantart.com/art/msn-live-messenger-icon-87840822 la barra de tareas no tiene ninguna transparencia y solo algunos accesos directos para no sobrecargarla, espero les guste.
