The Linux transition is complete. After discovering that I can transfer pictures from my digital camera to this desktop with little effort I decided to give up Windows entirely.
I spent most of the morning wiping my laptop clean and reinstalling Ubuntu Linux. This is my desktop, round 2, with some minor improvements over the last screen shot.
So long Windows. I hope the door hits you on the way out.

The Austrian "Linux Weeks" (Linuxwochen) consist of a series of free lectures dealing with Linux (of course), but also with free and open source software in general. As there were lectures and workshops in the university I work on May 11 and 12, 2007, we currently display books about Linux, free flow of information and open source tools in the library.

The video screens didn't work on the airplane so the crew rebooted the video server several times, letting us all see the Linux config and IP addresses. Every seat contains a PC with Linux!
Not very secure to broadcast the console on all seats, though!
At least it is not running Windows!
