Here's a screen shot of my current #! Crunch Bang Linux desktop. I love how clean looking Openbox is with just Conky running.
A minimalistic wallpaper, with scanlines and a script proclaiming Arch's superitority!
The font used is Terminus (at 32 pixels), the orange is the complement of the blue in the Arch logo.
This wallpaper is designed for 4:3 monitors, at 1280x1024 resolution (that's the only monitor size I have). Feel free to re-create or simply scale it to match your aspect ratio of choice. :)
I have never dealt with Linux, so don't take this picture as a judgment against an entire operating system.
If Microsoft had a mascot, though.....

Played around with GIMP to make my own desktop background (wallpaper).
I used a png file for the logo to add to the background, and made the logo (depending on the color) fully or partly tranparent.
Not really photography, I know...

This Deutches Telekom payphone located along Unter den Linden in Berlin was running Linux and had crashed, showing a clearly legible stack backtrace sideways on the monitor.
I know, geek stuff. But I think the fact that the SonicWall SSL VPN appliance supports Linux is cool. And that they include a non-GUI version of the client is even cooler.
