Katrina is my cousin’s 11 year old daughter and this is her quilt. This quilt was more than 2 years in the making, mainly because I could not decide how to finish off the improv block that I made for the front. It all started when Trina told me she would like a quilt “with pink and green and a touch of cyan”.
With those marching orders I used a bunch of Kona Cotton solids (I shied away from prints so the quilt could grow with her and not be too “little girl”) and finally decided to use Essex linen cotton blend to frame the main block with a lot of negative space.
I pieced the back of the quilt by simply using the extra Kona colors from the front put together on the fly. Then came the quilting, after drawing out a couple of options I went with echo straight line quilting in dark pink and even snuck in some light pink and green around the square on the front with pebble quilting inside the block. It was my first time pebble quilting on a large quilt and I ended up with some puckers but after washing it looked great! I finished the quilt off with a printed binding and a hand-stitched tag.
The quilt is a finished 60.5”x67”.
Enjoy a fusion look of sorts with this linen sari. The gorgeous sari is perfectly contrasted with black and red stripes on pallu as well as the thread work border.
Napkins, kitchen towels and tablecloths… I love linen, and I love the look of stacked linen! If they come in an assortment of prints and textures, the better! They look so lovely sitting stacked all pretty in a pile... See more at The house in the roses

Not only am I trying to find the perfect linen to work with I'm also trying to overcome the problem of colour difference between what I see on my computer screen and what arrives in the mail when ordering online.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions too!
I love the linen stitch and think it's one of the best ways to use oddballs of different yarns. This one is the left-over Drops Delight along with a chenille that I've had for decades.
I used the same pattern as the purple tunic from the Nani Iro book, the one on the cover.
This time I used a linen fabric and added some rosettes I chanced upon in Shamshuipo while shopping for beads with my girls.
I'm actually happy with my sewing of this one! And linen is perfect for the hot weather although it creases so easily.
I always fail (miserably) at documenting what I sew for myself. Yesterday, my girl got this picture of me at the end of the day. Apparently she liked this blouse (me too, of course!!).

Mods - added an invisible zipper instead of an exposed one. Don't have a back picture to show it, but it's a very easy and effective alteration. Love it.

écrevisse is a fantastical sculpted red bag. Even that sounds like an understatement, doesn't it? It has a shell-like sculpted wool body with protrusions and pods and undulations. It also has a heavyweight linen lining that closes with a drawstring, and a stuffed strap. Curious note: I designed it so that the lining runs through the wool shell but isn't actually attached to it. Maybe it will moult!*
Secret Lentil cuffs are each a little landscape of freeform stitching - with ruffles and frays and little volcanos and spores and other surprises. No two are alike. They are made from multiple layers of 100% linen — and between that and the extensive stitching, they have a nice substantial feel. Each closes with a stretchy loop and a hand chosen button from my coveted stash of vintage buttons. They're super comfortable.
