oil paint and graphite, the theme is the hermetical laws of polarity and movement. There is no ending and no beginning in any direction, just an endless movement. The NY Transit Museum fleet is seen getting in positions for the traditional lineup at Ocean Parkway Station following the end of the first day of the Parade of Trains. From left to right (and oldest to newest) are:
AB Standard no. 2392 (ACF, 1914-1919)
R1 no. 381 (ACF, 1930-1931)
R32 no. 3360 (Budd, 1964)
R46 no. 5658 (Pullman-Standard, 1974-1975)
The R32 is sporting a replica of a banner from a celebratory trip the cars made in 1964, from the New York Central Railroad's Mott Haven Yard to Grand Central Terminal. The banner was donated to the museum along with a similar "last of 600 new Brightliners" that was created for the cars' last run in 2022.
Sunday morning lineup at the water tank in Cass. Shays 2 and 4 have been positioned. Shay 5 is on the way. Tinkering a bit with B&W, really does seem that logging locomotives are better in B&W.

A trio of EMD SD70MACe engines lead a northbound Herzog rock train around a curve just north of the Dorsey siding as they approach the town of Gravette, AR on a rainy Saturday, August 26, 2023 morning. At over 23 years old, the SD70MACes in Kansas City Southern livery are now sort of modern-day classics and catching them in mainline service is somewhat rare.

Not so sure why, but this looks like a strong photograph to me. Is it because of the compression at 300mm that give the impression of a really tight group of players ? Anyways, I hope you'll like it too.
Illinois Railway Museum's former Santa Fe FP45 92 has been setout on the NRE transfer at Silvis and awaits mechanical work to operation while BICB-12 and SISW-13 hang out in the background.
