It's gonna take some adjusting to figure out how to get stuff in focus with this new lens, but I'm liking it so far.
Well, we can just pretend I ran this through the "soft" filter in my phone XDD.
Knowing PAM's history, La Mer really should be more careful regarding cages!
She is wearing a dress by Feltland (on etsy)...barettes by Love Nest Design (on etsy) stockings by Gothelina. Thank you so much for the lovely creations, Monica!!
I am so happy to finally present Airdrie...a little twin sister for Rhys on the left. They look sweet in their little Dollsville dresses.
I think Rhys is a bit more mature and reserved. Airdrie is more baby-like and mischievous.
...are better than real flames to walk through! I didn't really say that, did I? haha...but just could not think of a title for this! It is too late!
Eleanor is wearing a darling dress from La Pierle.
Whale shark with its friends the remoras. Remoras attach to large fish or whales with a sucker like organ on the top of their head.
Whale sharks are found in tropical waters and live in the open sea. The largest confirmed individual had a length of 12.65 m (41.50 ft). They have a lifespan of approximately 70 years. They are listed on the IUCN red list as a vulnerable species. Every spring the coral spawning brings their migration to Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia where they can spend up to 5 months feeding on plankton. Ningaloo attracts individuals 4m to 10 m in length and it is possible to swim with these majestic beautiful fish through licensed operators. - photo by 2009©Tom Balks/TomBalks.com, all right reserved
Surviving cancer and using art as a tool for healing, reflection and understanding has infused my art with a sense of energy and optimism that has a universal appeal. The process of making the art as well as the meaning of it, are both an integral part of the end result and for me there is always a battle to harmonize between the two – to evoke the emotion of the piece and to empower the viewer.
I love combining traditional and new media painting techniques where one feeds off the energy of the other. The visual collaboration of both medias often celebrates a bold expressionism and optimistic edge regardless of subject matter.
My work has evolved from a mashing of referenced pop art and iconic imagery into elaborate multilayered portraits and scenes that depict a more personal interpretation of my life experience, battles and passions. My goal is to lead the observer to dramatic action, putting them on the edge between what we know and what is unknowable. I’ve learned that something new will always come about when you push hard enough and the result is the revelation of a “new identity”.
The motivation for me to keep going is to gain an understanding of how this “new identity or rebirth or truth” actually reflects my life as well as the world we live in – or not.

Ignasi Aballí’s design is a nod to 'Nothing, or Something', his project at Suitcase Art Projects / Today Art Museum, Beijing, that Latitudes curated in 2009. This project centred on the artistic history of absence and comprised a series of display windows of a retail centre which drew attention to mundane or invisible materials such as dust and newspapers, light and air. Ignasi’s bag is a mischievous take on slogan apparel, a bold statement (in Helvetica, naturally) printed in barely visible ink. By showing the first side you would reticently declare “NOTHING”, or by deploying the reverse side you could display the skeptical catch-all message: “SOMETHING”.
This bag is one of four limited-edition silkscreened totes produced on the occasion of Latitudes’ 10th Anniversary.
Each bag have been hand silkscreened at Print Workers in Barcelona; this is an artisanal process and each printing results in slight variations.
